To rewind the spring is a bit of an art, hook the end of the spring into the stub on the starter, now start to wind each coil into the cover, making sure you keep your thumb on the coils you have wound in so as they do not spring out, otherwise order a new spring which will come pre wound in a keeper to make instalation very easy.

SOURCE: I need to replace the starter spring & pulley

Cb is right, the IPL will help for part numbers and as a guide for assembly.
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – useful when downloading IPLs and Manuals
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week

This may help too.

Immobilize the clutch cover (blocks of wood on a flat surface to protect the finish) in a vise or to a work surface,

Use pliers or a crescent wrench and rotate it clockwise until it latches open. This will require some force.

While repairing broken starter rope rewind spring popped out. need instructions to rewind and reinstall. judy

Re winding starter springs is a real black art, and not for the faint hearted, always wear eye protection before attemping this, hook the end of the spring into the cover, now start winding the spring in one coil at a time, keep your thumb on the coils that you have already wound in to stop them popping out, keep winding it in and turning the cover as well to aid you.Eventually you will come to the last centre coil which should just drop in.

Starter recoil spring reload, How?

If the spring is unwound.
Recoil Spring Rewind
I invert and secure the starter housing and rewind the spring large coil to small (need eye protection and both hands). I am right handed so I tension the spring enough to insert it inside the previous coil while holding what has already been installed with my left about 180° from my right hand. The tension will hold the spring in the housing once completely rewound. Then bend slightly the inner most part to engage the starter spool. It will require about 2 turns of pretension for it to retract properly.

If the starter cord needs a pretension, this works quite well.

Ouch. It sounds like the cord rewind spring has gotten out of position. These things can be holy terrors to get back in the cavity in which they rest.

Check on a new rewind spring assembly. This might be more cost effective than trying to get a service person to put the spring back into place.

Broken recoil spring

A new spring comes wound tight enough to be dropped into place in the starter housing (Easiest).

I invert and secure the housing and rewind the spring large coil to small (need eye protection, both hands and no women around work area!). I'm right handed so i tension the spring enough to insert it inside the previous coil while holding what has already been installed with my left about 180° from my right hand. It will require about 2 turns of pretension to retract properly.
If you're lucky you can pull the cord out enough for a pretension then slightly raise and add the withdrawn cord to the spool.

Both methods require about 2 turns of pretension to rewind the cord when pulled.

Strimmer Starter strip

You will need to take the housing off to expose the rewind mechanism. The most likely cause will be a broken rewind spring. Go on the WEB and search for your model and a part list. Locate the spring and order it. Once you install the spring, you will need to pre-tension the spring by by pulling the cord part way out and ciol it on the spool. Good luck
