I want to permentely turn off degauss mode in my monitor

Hi every time when my monitor on first monitor itself automatically degauss its screen then its proper on. due to this problem my 2 new 250 hard drives and mother board effective because at the time of on it consume a large capacity of electricity because in degauss mode a **** of electricity applies on my system at the time of power on pc . so pleae tell me how can i permently turn off degauss mode when i want to degauss the screen then i shall on it pleaseeeeeee help me out.

    hi i don't know but in lg flatron 776fm monitor when i power on the monitor the monitor screen first degauss itself then it normally starts i check its menu there is no off option in degauss settings when i want to off it it stills on i don't know why. you know that in dgauss process it consumes a large capacity of electricy due to this electric **** which is like a one second is day by day effect on my pc. so i want to know how can i off the degauss mode.

    Monitors do not degauss themselves. And, degaussing a monitor could not have made your hard drives and motherboard defective.

Do you have everything plugged into a surge protection power strip?   If not consider getting one, as this will eliminate the Voltage Spikes which may be caused by everything coming on at the same time.

Kids ran magnet across screen
Magnets do not affect LCD screens.
If your screen is a CRT monitor then a magnet will cause this problem.
Try turning off the monitor and back on several times and the degaussing coils on the monitor may fix this problem. If the screen is still discolored then take your monitor to a TV repairer and they can degauss your monitor with a more powerful degaussing tool.

You cannot "Degausse" a flat panel screen. Degaussing is actually the de-magnetisation of the chassis of the Cathode Ray Tube. Flat panels don't have CRT's.

LCD monitors don't have degauss buttons. Degaussing was needed with CRT monitors because a magnetic charge would build up on the screen and need to be reset occasionally, though in later CRTs this was done automatically whenever you turned the monitor on.

It could be possible that your monitor is not degaussing the screen when you turn it on. Try turning your monitor on and off a few times to degauss the screen. If this does not work, you most likely need a new degaussing coil which is a cheap part and can be bought at any TV spares retailer

Dell XPS M1210 laptop was set next to a speaker and now the bottom half of the screen is grey
It's due to the magnetic field interferences from the speaker. At the first place, you shouldn't keep it near the speakers.


Always keep speakers far away from the Monitor.Now turn off the monitor and turn it on again,hope it solve the problem. You may even need to restart the system.

Moving magnetic fields (such as from an electric motor) can cause flickering when near a CRT screen. A static magnetic field, such as from your computer's speakers, can cause color shifts or incorrect colors in the area near the magnet. This color shift is caused by parts of the screen becoming magnetized. Occasionally the color shift will remain after you remove the source of magnetism. To help reduce or eliminate the color shift, you can use the degaussing option on most monitors. Most newer monitors automatically degauss when you turn them on, while older monitors might require you do to it manually. Most monitors have a button or menu option that enables you to degauss it manually. Degaussing a monitor will de-magnetize the inside of the monitor, removing the color shift. Unfortunately, if the monitor is exposed to the source of magnetism for too long, degaussing will not be able to clear it up, requiring you to repair or replace the monitor.

Samsum samtron crt 56 v monitor ,got a green shade on picture,but looks good at times
That has been damaged by some magnetic device.

Solution: You need to degauze it. (Refer to manual for specific degauze instructions)

How do i degaussing a dell e550 color monitor usung its built in degaussing system?
Hi - Your monitor has a built in degaussing feature that executes every time you turn the monitor on. To perform extra degaussing, turn your your monitor off for at lest 30 minutes then turn it back on. This will cause it do a more thorough degaussing as opposed to just turning your monitor off and then turning it right back on. If this answered your question PLEASE rate this as fixed. How often does this happen? How long does it do this for? After it happens, does it look normal again? It sounds like your monitor is automatically "degaussing" (de-gowse-ing) -- this is a process which reduces built-up magnetic fields on the monitor which can affect how it looks over time. Usually, you'll hear a noise when it does it, and at the end of the process, usually a distinct "click" when it snaps back to regular operation. Some monitors do this automatically when they are turned on, and some can be made to do it manually. I've not seen one that just does it at random times though.

Screen discolored
did you have a speaker of move something magnetic by the front of the set or move it to a differant location?? Try to unplug the set first for several hours then plug in cold and see if that takes care of your problem.. If it doesent take all of the discoloring away but did a little try this procedture a few more times cold. if its making no differance to the set then the degussing curcuit is not working in the set and your gonna need a tech to check out the relay or thermistor or to deguss the set with a coil.
