Your new memory carde is maybe deffective. try to return it to your dealer. cause sometimes memory card maybe corrupted. if you have a new one you must reformat it first before storing some files there. these will solve your problem.

I'm trying to upgrade memory in my PC. It uses a KV-80 motherboard but doesn't work if I insert two 1GB memory strips

It sounds like you've got a bad memory module, the second 1GB that you're trying to put in. Try replacing your good 1GB module with this new one and see if it reacts the same way.
I looked up your MB manual and it does say it's rated for 2 x 1GB modules.

A slight possibility is that you're trying to put 240 pin memory in the Dimm slot, instead of 184, but that's unlikely because the notch doesn't line up. Another one, also unlikely is that you're trying to put in DDR266 or 333 when your front side bus is running at DDR400 speed.

It's also extremely rare, but you may have to change your settings in the BIOS to get it to recognize the new module. Although that almost never sets off the "emergency siren".

When I updated to 2GB for my 754 motherboard, I bought 2 brand new modules that turned out to be both bad.

I have a L7VMM2 - Rev 2 motherboard with a Athlon 2400 processor. I have replaced the 2 x 256 Mb ram chips (PC2100) with 2 x 1Gb PC2700 chips. Total memory is reported as 1Gb (i.e. 2 x 512). I am (almost)...

Have you checked the posibility of 512 Mb limit per slot for your motherboard? This is often at some older mobos. The manufacture page for your mobo is here check the revision you own.

Z3 will not accept a 2g card

The Dimage Z3 accept SD cards up to 1GB (Minolta says 512 Mb, and sold it with 16Mb). This camera is 4MP , and uses less memory on card, therefore a 512MB card will be enough for it.

RAM NOT DETECTING

I had the same issue on this board where it came with a Samsung 512 MB 533 MHz PC2-4200 DDR2 DIMM. I put in a 1 GB Kingston with the same specs (533 MHz PC2-4200 DDR2) and it would not recongize the Samsung anymore with the system reading as 1 GB of RAM instead of 1.5 GB. Tried every configuration and would only see the Kingston. It would only see the Samsung if I pulled out the Kingston regarless of the slots I use. So, I just bought the exact same make/model of Kingston and it recognized that fine and the system now has 2 GB of memory (max this board allows). And, I had already installed the latest BIOS for this board from Intel before doing all this so wasn't an old BIOS. I'm figuring the board didn't like something about the Samsung memory (speed, module configuration, etc.) that made it not play nice with the Kingston. If interested I bought the DM8400A/1G Kingston modules. And, this board appears not to support dual channel memory. Only has channel A, slots 0 and 1, and I read need two channels to support dual channel (seems obvious). Boards that supports dual channel memory normally have 4 memory slots, two for channel A and two for channel B, then put in matching modules in slot 0 for channel A and B and have dual channel memory access. And if want more ram, then matching modules in slot 1 for channel A and B.

It is slow with memory card provided with mobile 256mb.

hi ,

u can go for max512 mb..dont go 1 gb as this will hamper the speed of ur mobile..& if u switch to 512 mb..do try to keep all the stuff in memory card rather than sim memory..transfer mostly all the things from phone memory to mem card. This will sort the speed problem of ur mobile

Thanks
