Need a code for my philips to reprogramme my sky remote my model is 28pt4458/05

Sony has no codes for TVs for this remote. The TV code is not reprogrammable. The codes that can be changed are here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-remote.pl?mdl=RMY165&LOC=3 . You will be much better off getting a third-party universal remote that was programmed after 6/2012. Alternatively, a compatible remote is available here: http://www.replace-remote-control.com/philips-27pt644237-remote-control-p-2288.html . Other sources might have the remote. The part number is RC19335004/01 .

The correct code (or whether there is a code at all) depends on which version of the Sky remote you are using. The version number of the remote can be found on a sticker inside the battery compartment. If you have "RC1600/00" "Rev 4" or "Rev 6" on the sticker, then it's unlikely that it will work with your TV, but please read on as this isn't always true.

If you have a "Rev 8" remote then it's more likely to work with your TV, however, according to Sky, you will need to buy the new "Rev 9" Sky remote:

If buying one, be sure to check the button for the "Rev 9" version ( £0.85).

The actual code for your TV model is: 0718

I suggest you try the above code regardless of which version of Sky remote you have as Sky's information is not always accurate. You can also try these generic codes for Philips TVs:

0584, 0266, 0065, 0749, 1679, 0199, 0679

Again, try these with whichever version of the Sky remote you are using. There is a good chance that one of them will operate the volume and power functions on your TV. If none of the above codes work, then you will probably need to buy a Rev 9 remote.

The Universal Remote can be used for the basic operations like turning ON/OFF, changing the channels, changing the volume. However, the main features like TV Guide and internal menu settings cannot be accessed using the Universal Remote. To access the all features of the product, it is required to use the Remote supplied with that product only.

This really depends on which brand/model of TV you have and which Sky remote version. The code you need is specific to the brand/model of TV.

The Sky remote version is printed on a sticker inside the battery compartment. The older Sky remotes will have "RC1600/00" on the sticker. Newer versions will also have either "Rev 4", "Rev 6", or "Rev 8" on the sticker.

If you have a new TV and an older Sky remote (i.e. before Rev 8) your remote may not work with your TV and you will need to buy a new Sky remote if you want to operate TV and Sky box with one remote.

It depends on the remote model.

After changing the battery please check weather the remote works or else you need to reprogramme it.

For programming please follow the below steps

1.Press the Setup button on your the universal remote and continue to hold it down until the indicator light stops flashing and remains solid. Release the Setup button.

2.Press the Mode button for the type of device you want to program on your Philips universal remote, such as the TV or DVD button.
3.Release it immediately and make sure the indicator light is illuminated.
4.Enter the first possible four-digit code on the universal remote, and then press another button on the remote to see if the device is now programmed, such as the volume control or power button.
5.If the device responds, you have successfully programmed your Philips universal remote.
6. If not, turn the device off and back on and follow the steps again using the next code on the list. Repeat until the device successfully responds
