When it shuts off and the green power light goes off, press both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set (not the remote) and hold both for about five seconds and release.

Hi, Mitsubishi WD-73286 is DLP tv that does not have any convergence circuit inside. Convergence is required in old model rear projection tv that has three basic colors picture tubes to generate color picture that projected on front screen of tv. DLP tv has light engine to generate picture, it is similar to multimedia projector that throws its picture on wall. Hope this info will help. Thanks.
Tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead. The tv have colors lines R,G,B mis alignment, have colors pictures shadows or 3D pictures look alike. The tv convergence board the 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors are dead. These parts on the tv convergence board, must be replaced to solved the tv convergence picture problems. The shop, will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
The problem is the convergence circuit.
Mitsubishi used two different types of convergence IC's in this series. The first is a pair of STK-392-570, the second is a single STK393-110. The only way to fix the problem is to replace the appropriate IC'S. In some cases the problem may appear to be intermitent or loose solder connections. Save yourself the anguish and replace the IC'S.
Getting the PowerSupply/ Convergence board
out to do this is tricky and I recommend a professional to do it. Hidden screws on the front of the heat-sink make it difficult to take out and you can break the board easily trying to force it.
