I have 2 technics that shorted, well one was finished with led installation, it fried, the other had finished led install with regulator, i dropped the pop up light on table and it sparked and shorted. any idea of what is out? nothing shows any burn of any kind one table has fuses and the other no fuses, both probably need transformers.

need to know if it powers up. Does it try to spin, do you hear it trying to spin? More than likely the on/off switch went bad. No, I am not referring to the ON/OFF knob. THere is a switch this engages when turned. The part is S601. You might also want to replace the Start/Stop switch as well. If neither work, then the issue is on the main PC board, and probably IC101, or IC201 with the problem. At this stage, you will have to have a service tech look at your unit.

The part is located HERE - but you will have to take apart your turntable from the bottom in order to replace it. It's not very hard, but if your not mechanically inclined, I would not suggest doing it, as you could cause more damage.

SOURCE: Connect turntables(technics SL1210MK5) to a mixer?
None. The cables are already attached to the turntable. They are hard wired to the unit. The red & White cable. Just connect to the PHONO INPUT on your DJ MIXER, and connect the thin ground wire to the GROUND terminal on the mixer. That's it your ready to go.

OK. Whoever stated that the Technics SL-1610MK2 is direct drive, probably did not notice the "belt" being sold for only $14.90 online. If this belt is being sold, there is a strong possiblility that this turntable is belt driven, so maybe the belt just slipped off or busted. order a belt and replace. Good Luck.

The euro table had a switch set at 115Volts, and was wired correctly just no regulator was attached when finished and shortly after powering on it when out and smelled. turned over the mother board and seen it was from 1988 august. old bought it used.200.00 but the other i had purchased in 98 and had finished the strobe, 33/45. pitch was finishing on the regulator for the pop up LED the light didn't com on but all the others did so i turned off the unit took out the pop up light and looked at it the resistor was soldered wrong. So i took off the covering and screw and I dropped the lamp covering over the power circuit by accident and sparks came up and smoke this table does not have fuses, the other looked in bad shape since it was from 1988? Before I started on this i noticed after putting in the strobe the platter was turning counter clock wise when powered on I couldn't make since of it i figured it would correct it's self when the popup light was finished. instead i ended up with 2 burnt sl12000mk-2's ouch. I still have my new table that i haven't touched since putting the 33/45, strobe and pitch light on. i have not put in the pop up light and left this table alone to work on older tables to learn but i would appreciate any advise. on either table thanks so much.
It was making weird sounds when rocking back in forth the platter that is before i worked on the pop up led. before i dropped the lamp cover. I have a extra regulator +5V 3 prong left-live middle ground right output. is how i did the wiring on the pop up light. and the spliced wires going to the plug in on the mother board. but the reason it burned out is by me dropping the lamp cover over the power circut board and transformer, i think it might be the transformer. can you get this at radio shack.
