Bosch dishwasher shx46a06uc-30

Dishwasher pump was continually running when door was opened. Took the washer out of the cabinet and tipped drained as much of the water out as possible to reset flood switch. Now the pump stops when opening door is opened but continues to drain cycle when the door closed and will not move on to the next cycle. Is flood switch still engaged?

The unit will try to complete the last command it was engage in before it went in the overfill safety mode. you must perform a cancel drain cycle to reset unit to default setting. Remember the drain cycle is 2 min and must be completed to reset main control. however if it went into a overfill status you have a leak and it generally comes from the pressure chamber on the lefthand side of unit where the water enters tub

SOURCE: DISHWASHER DRAINING POORLY

the drain on that model activates about 4 times for a couple seconds before it go into the continual drain. it does that so debris can fall downwards easier during the drain. its also supposed to have about 2-3 inches of water left below the iron mesh filter when its complete, if its above the filter than you have a drain problem. if you do have a drain problem then yes check your airgap first if you have one to make sure that isnt clogged. if your issue still exists then send a message, im sure we can figure it out

Bosch SHU runs even when the door is open, what do i need?

Hi Jeffrey,

This depends what you mean by "runs". If the dishwasher continues with a wash cycle - i.e. circulating water - with the door open, the simple answer is that you have a defective door microswitch.

However, I suspect what you perceive to be the dishwasher running, is actually the drain pump running continuously. This happens when the anti-flood protection system has been activated and continues even when the door is opened. The simplest way to check is to open the door (while it's "running") and pour some water into the tub. If the water drains away immediately, this shows the drain pump is running and the anti-flood protection has been activated.

This may be due to water having leaked into the base of the dishwasher, but it could be as simple as a stuck or defective float-switch.

Please try the simple test above then post back for further assistance. If you're planning to investigate or repair this yourself, you're going to need a Torx T20 screwdriver and a multi-meter would be useful as well.

Bosch SGS5332GB dishwasher. drain pump runs all the time

There is a float under the machine that tells the pump to shut off. If the float is stuck or bad, the machine will keep draining. I am including a web site that might help. Bosch Dishwasher That Will Not Stop Draining Hunker

My Bosch shx46A05UC no longer will drain.....it

I ran into the SAME problem with my Bosch SHX46A06UC /21. The problem ultimately ended up being a clog in the air gap vent, (meaning, SOMEBODY ran the dishwasher without the bottom filter being in place or not in place properly). Remove the air gap cover and upper surface nut to drop the air gap vent into the area under the sink. Disconnect the hoses from the air gap vent filter (placing a bucket under the hose from the dishwasher). Run the drain cycle on the dishwasher. The washer should drain into the bucket and let you know that your pump works and that there are no clogs or kinks in the drain hose. (This will also remove the clog if so). The air gap vent's smaller hose connection is MOST LIKELY where your clog is. Look at the upper end of the air gap vent. You'll see a couple of clips on opposite sides of each other, that hold the air vent cap in place. Using a small screwdriver, (or your hands if you can), depress the clips (or one at a time) to get to the point where you can pull the vent cap off the filter. Either use water or a thin, long blade screwdriver to force any objects out of the filter. You should now have full flow through both branches of the filter. Using water and a rag, clean the vent cap and filter. Mount the air gap vent filter back onto the sink. Reconnect the hoses and remove the dishwasher's internal filter(s) and clean them as well while you're at it, making sure to remove any debris that might remain underneath the filter and has the chance of clogging the unit again.

Run the washer again to test. You should be good!

Cheers!

Bosch SGV43A03 DISHWASHER: pump drains all the time, even if reset!

Typically you could possibly have a leak in the base or sump which activates a little float switch. This in turn switches the drain pump on continuously and deactivates the programing cycle.Sort out the leak.
