You will need a password to unlock then take off automatic locking if no password a computer /phone shop should be able to assist for around ten pounds.

Hi mythreebrats If you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the IPod by doing the following: Connect your IPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one IPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked. If you can't unlock IPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod. If you want to change the primary computer that your IPod is associated with, do this: 1. Restore your iPod. WARNING: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data. 2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer. 3. Open iTunes and synchronize. If you can't unlock your iPod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the IPod, which will erase all music and data. What you need to do to retrieve your password is to type this into the address bar on IE, Firefox, or Chrome on a pc that is connected to your network: 192.168.2.1 (make sure to include the periods) and hit enter. This should bring up the router page in your browser. Depending on your router's brand you may have to hunt around for a bit in the settings before you find your password (I have a Dynex router, and all I need do is click 'security' on the left side). Make sure your write down this lengthy group of 'hex pairs" and store in a secure place so you won't have to duplicate this action in the future. You can then enter the password into your ipod.
NOTE: Once again, depending on your router, you may have had to input a router password when you originally set it up with your modem in order to access these settings. If you didn't choose a password at that time, the default login and password for most routers is 'admin/admin', though your router may not ask you for a login name. The most likely cause is a damaged docking connector. However if there was no incident with knocking, wrenching or mistreatment of the dock connector, it may be another cause. just resync it with your first synced computer. it will open the lock code because its store somekind unlock verifaction code when you first sync it to your computer.
Usually there are several reasons why it happens the way it happened :
1) Someone is trying to gain access & lock your account.
2) A person tries to guess your password & ID by attempting more than 3 times or so.
But no worries, it's a normal security precaution which will eventually locked the account to prevent the unauthorized user from getting in successfully.
This lock down usually will last 24hours after the failed attempts made by the unauthorized user. Go to this main Yahoo! logging site & insert the correct ID & password of your account. The first attempt may prove failure, second attempts will lead you to the "word verification system" which is to make sure that you are not "bots". Follow all those procedures provided by Yahoo!.
48hours after visiting that Yahoo! main logging site, your account should return as normal.
**NOTE: Remember to clear out your ID every time signing out of any sites that preserve your personal informations such as Facebook, Yahoo! Messenger @ Mail & etc. to prevent them from being hack or so.
Try restarting the iPod and connect it again. If it doesn't recognize it try it on another PC, if it still isn't detected it is the iPod. Buying a Mac wouldn't help nor hurt the situation, it would just be an expenditure.
