> you just have to reinstall driver for your touchpad but if after doing that and still not working then touchpad might be busted
> sometimes a certain software might be causing the touchpad to not work and restoring computer to factory default might resolve the issue but this will cause your files so do a back-up first

If you wiggle the power cord at the end plugged into the laptop, does the power LED blink, or the light stays solid?

How do I let the scroll bar work on my Acer Aspire 5532? Someone installed Windows 8, but then took it off and put back Windows 7. When Windows 8 was installed the scroll bar did not work. Now that Windows...

I suppose there is no hardware fault. Please reinstall touchpad drivers from the following website and try going into Mouse settings and check if scroll bar is enabled. Install the one apppropriate to your hardware for eg if your touchpad is ALPS install ALPS driver.

Usb ports not working on aspire 5532

start > all programs > control panel > administrative tools > computer management device manager, right click very top of directory tree and scan for hardware changes..........If thats not working try... going down tree to universal serial bus controller, click little arrow to the left, and expand sub-directories, right click on standard enhance USB host controller and roll back driver..reboot computer after it roles back drivers. hopefully theres no problem but if so, try..going to acer.com, search downloads. good luck!!!

Acer 5532 Touch Pad Not Working

Here are a couple of ideas from a Google Search:

Press the key to the left of the On/Off button. The key has a picture of a finger pressing the touchpad. So simple, so elegant, so little information out there about it.

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. I would like to know when you turn the laptop on is it running? Can you see the light that indicates that it is on?

We need to check if this is caused by a LCD or motherboard issue. If you can connect an external monitor on your computer and tap FN + F5. This will toggle the display. If you will be able to see the display on the external monitor it means that the problem is the LCD but if not then the problem is the video graphic that is embedded to the motherboard and to be able to fix it is to replace the motherboard itself.
