Electric Oven doen't heat

I have a GE in wall double oven (model JTP56). It is controlled by an electronic keypad. The upper oven works fine. Neither the broiling or oven element heat on the lower, but the light comes on. I swapped the heating element from the upper to lower oven, and the problem remained with the lower oven, so I think the element is OK. I am thinking of replacing the keypad / controller, but it costs ~ 200 and I'm not sure if thats the problem since the upper oven works fine...

Cdkd, there should be a TC0, on the back of the oven. Thermal cut out. You want to check to see if it is open. You will have to pull the oven out enough that you can remove the back panel cover and check it. The lower and upper oven should have one. It's a very cheap part to replace. If this TCO fails, no heat. Check this first before buying a new board. Catriver..post back.

Upper oven problem,

The Keypad (membrane) switches seem to be malfunctioning, this is very common on ovens these days especially if the unit has been self cleaned often. If you replace the membrane switch the unit should have all its functions again.

F7 on double wall oven

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F7 on your oven means that the keypad is shorted or stuck and to resolve this issue you’ll have to replace the Electronic Range control (ERC). Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Double oven. Top is digital. It has started

You have a stuck keypad or a bad electronic oven control. Try pressing all buttons at random several times each to unstick a faulty pad. If that does not work the EOC must be replaced.

Bottom oven doesn't heat after running self-clean cycle

Usually, when an oven won't heat, it's because the bake element is burned out. The bake element is the black, pencil- thick tube at the bottom of the oven. When the oven heats, the element glows red. This element has an expected life-span of several years. It may last for only one; it may last for many more. When the element burns out, you need to replace it.

Top oven doesn't heat.

We had this same problem in our lower oven and found the solution the night before Thanksgiving. With 26 people coming for dinner, I desperately need both ovens. (Turn off the breaker for the oven before you do this.)

My husband took the control panel off of the upper oven and found a wiring diagram. In the text, it said there was a manual reset for each oven in the access panel for each one. He opened the access panel for the lower oven and found the reset button in the middle of that area. He said it was a black circle with a red button in the middle. After reseting, we turned the breaker back on and everything works great!!
