I have a YP-C1Z 1GB Samsung MP3 player which used to work very well until I used a Nikon USB camera cable which looked identical to the cable that came with the player. After connecting it to my notebook using the camera cable it died and I have been unable to revive it. Does anyone know it the player can be repaired or can I throw it away. I was a bit disappointed because I was under the impression that USB cables follow a particular standard rather than frying your electronics devices Cheers
Yes it is usually the same cable, try connecting it in a different USB port see if the hardware is recignised.
