I have a 52" RCA HDTV. When it was working right, I would push the power button on the remote, and the power light on the tv would come on and flicker for a few seconds, and the tv would come on.
Now, when I push the power button, either on the tv, or the remote, the power light will flicker like it should, then go out for a few seconds, the power light will come back on for a couple of seconds, go out again, then come on again for a few seconds, go out, and not come on again, and the tv does not power up.
I push the power button again, and it goes thru the same sequence without the tv powering up.
I do this several times, and the tv will finally come on, but it will have the rolling screen for the first 5-10sec, then everything normal.
After the tv has been on a while, and I turn it off, I can hit the power button, and it powers right up.
Any ideas? Can I fix it myself, or is it time for a new tv?

Do you have the convergence option in the customer setup menu? IF YOU DO NOT consult the tips and tricks section of this website for the article ' "The fl231 fuse problem" If you do then it will need some more trouble shooting

It sounds like your TV needs to be aligned. There should be a menu item in your setup menu called "Alignment". Once you choose this the system will either automatically align itself, or the screen will display a graphic that will allow you to align the guns manually. Normally you will move either up or down or side to side until 2 separate lines look like one.
