Once you plug the VGA cable from the computer to the VGA port on the tv, get the remote for the TV and go to the Select Input function so that you can select PC or Computer as the input source. Then Reboot the Computer.

Once the computer reboots it will probably display on the tv. If not, Press and Hold the FN function key on the computer then hit the correct key (F1 thru F12) that toggles the display. The correct key (F1 thru F12) will have LCD/CRT on it or it might have the icon of a display.
Once it is pressed the video should toggle each time you hit it from showing on the Computer only, TV only, both the TV and Computer.

SOURCE: Hook up a Sony VGC RA 840G desktop to a Samsung 46 inch TV

Some TV's don't have a VGA input. S-Video cable is more common. Look on the back of your computer an see if you have an S-Video jack. If you have a TV compatible output on your computer, such as an S-video jack, just take an S-video cable and connect it to your computer and your TV. If you do not, then attach your VGA end of your adapter to your computer and use the RCA, S-video or Component Video cable to attach to your TV. After you've made all the connections, make sure you are on the correct TV video input. Press the input button on your TV or remote until you see your computer's signal.

SOURCE: hook vga cord to hdtv and optiplex desk top get

Try a different display setting, for example, 1280 x 800 or 1024 x 768. Once you can see (computer) display, then move onto the best resolution which your display card support for your HDTV. Good luck..

(btw, if your dell has two vga sockets, get another vga cable. Then set your computer to a dual display mode, one for your computer and the other for HDTV. this way you will never lose your display.)

SOURCE: aspire m-5620 desktop shut down wont power up

Try opening the computers case and resetting the BIOS Battery
Now BEFORE you open the computer do the following:-
(1 Unplug the computer from ALL conections (2 Touch the metal case on the computer to get rid of any static electricity. Static + Computer = Dead Computer so be sure not 2 have static electricity when operating on computer.
Now we may begin!
Now once you open your computer find some thing called the BIOS Battery. Now it's a CR2032 Battery which is the type people use in tamagotchis and pocket LED lights. It will be silver and round and about the size of a camera lens. Now find a clip or something holding it in place. Push that clip and the battery will pop out. AVoid touching the motherboard witch is the big board that the BIOS Battery is on. It wont damage anything by touching it by just try not to.
Now wait about an hour.
Once youve waited around an hour put the BIOS Battery back in. Switch on your computer and hey presto we have bootup. Now your computer will say something like press F2 to setup BIOS or Press Escape to run deafult settings. Just stick with the deafult settings.

Try to install the updated sound/audio driver. If nothing happens, it means that you have a bad headset jack.

Type of Cord to hook Laptop to TV

You need a standard VGA cable to go from the laptop to the TV. Keep in mind that the sound will still come from the laptop not the TV speakers. You can get a cable here if you need one.

Tv won't read the cable when hooked to the cable wire without cable box

Hello, Mary -

Your cable TV provider probably requires all TVs accessing the cable service to have their own cable converter boxes.

Note: An extra cable converter box will probably cost an additional monthly fee.

We have AT&T Uverse as our cable TV provider and need a cable converter for each TV.

Looking for a jumbo remote that will operate a new 26 inch Vizio Montior. The old one don't work. Is there a new version?

A remote is not designed to control and Moitor. They only run by the video/sound output from the pc. So I am taking it for granted that you meant TV instead of Monitor.

A. Before buying a new remote try replacing the batteries first.

B. I found the Innovage Jumbo Remote Control manual and it has no code for the Vizio TV, you will need to utilize the remote's "Code Search" option.

C. Instructions

1. Turn on the Vizio TV.
2. Aim the Jumbo Universal Remote at the Vizio TV and hold down the "Code Search" button on the remove for roughly 3 to 5 seconds. The LED lights on the Jumbo Universal Remote will come on.
3. Press the "TV" button at the top of the Jumbo Universal Remote.
4. Start pressing the "ON/OFF" button repeatedly until the Vizio TV turns off. This will likely take several minutes due to the amount of available codes.
5. Press "Enter" on the remote immediately after the Vizio TV turns off to save the code.
6. Test the Jumbo Universal Remote by trying to control the Vizio TV with the remote. If the control doesn't work with the remote, repeat the entire process.

Good luck.

Hello, Currently I have Vaio laptop connected to my Vizio 42" inch flat screen TV. There's no audio coming from my Vizio TV. So I connected an audio cable connected to the stereo jack. Where do I connect...

You need a 1/8 in cord on both ends. Normally, its an 1/8 inch audio connection in your tv to work with PC (the same connection as when you plug it in your comp) So u would need a wire that both ends are 1/8 inch (Headphone jack sized)
