Makes and stores ice but will not dispense ice
SOURCE: Ice dispenser
Hi Wilday1, Sounds like you have a possible defrost malfunction. In this case the Ice maker motor may have become iced and cannot turn the auger. Tell me if you have frost buildup at the back of the frezer and ice crystals on the auger drive. If you do , then you need to remove the Ice makers motor and allow it to thaw and defrost itself. be sure it is completely dry before putting it back in. I hope this helps.

Look for an ice cube lodged in the fingers IM. Get a hair dryer and melt that dude. No ice cube? Add some water to the IM mold. If it kicks out some ice but makes no more then you is gonna need a water valve. If it don't kick out no ice then you is gonna need a ice mold thermostat. Either one is very easy and cheap to fix. let me know Kimosabe.

Hi, The first thing to check is the inlet tube going through the back wall. Make sure it isn't plugged with ice. If the inlet is open, you can remove the front cover on the ice maker and locate the to holes marked M an N. Use an insulated wire and strip off about 1" on the ends. Insert the wire ends into these hole and see if the white gear on the ice maker head starts to turn. Let it advance through the cycle and see if you can hear the inlet valve hum when calling fpr water. If water enters the icemaker, you will need to replace the head modual board or the whole ice maker. There is not much difference in cast.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Check that the dispenser is not locked. Some models have a lock feature that deactivates the dispenser levers and control buttons. The lock button is on the dispenser front cover. This feature controls unintentional dispensing during cleaning. Press the "Unlock" or "Locked" button to reactivate the dispenser levers and allow dispenser function. You may need to hold the button for 2 to 3 seconds. http://whirlpool.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/whirlpool.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=110&p_created=1147725595&p_sid=lTIkCMOi&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MzEmcF9wcm9kcz0xOTkmcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PTEuMTk5JnBfY3Y9JnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9d2F0ZXIgZGlzcGVuc29y&p_li=&p_topview=1
