Black screen and have sound

The tv started going black and then i would hit the top of it and it would come back on then 30 minutes later go back out. turn it off and then wait about an hour and then turn it on and it would be ok and then 5 minutes later turn off and wont come back on. now it is just black with sound thats all.

our tv goes black with red lightening like line but still has sound. we turn it off for awhile and usually get the picture in 5 to 10 minutes! Help

relay is double clicking you can hear sound and green light stays on but no picture it will come on sometimes but wont stay on

That is definitely a manufacturers error.
If it has been less than a year since you purchased it i would contact them.
They will send you to a service center. If it cant be fixed they will replace your tv.
It is all covered by them.
If it is past a year its honestly not worth fixing it,
You can find name brand 32 inch tv's for less than 250
while fixing it would cost around 150.

Sounds like a power supply fault due to leaky capacitors(electrolitics).
From cold take the back off and run a hair dryer over the power supply for a few minutes then switch on,if it comes up fully working then you have to isolate the faulty part/parts and replace.

it sounds like your "lamp" is going out look for a hidden compartment.. or in your owners manual to see where its located its an easy fix and costs much less than a new tv

According to Sharp it is a software problem. Engineer came, installed software update ,10 minute job.....TV worked fine for 1/2 day unfortunately: Then images turned black and white in all channels TV turned itself off, and stanby and OPC buttons started flashing. When TV came back on its own 10 mins later , screen had 2 large square staines superimposed in image (as if it was a burnt screen)...Engineer will be back next week...all quite sad really for a new TV.....will keep u posted
