Kenmore 90 series washer will only spin with a couple of pieces of clothing in it, when I add more wet clothing it will not spin. If I take some cloths out it will then spin. When washer spins the water is draining fine, but only can get it to spin with a couple of pieces of clothing in it.

does it agitate???. if it does not then you need the motor coupling. you need to remove the cabinet, yes, I said the cabinet, remove the pump,motor and you got to the coupling. replace all part in kit. reassemble and test. go to the website of sears parts WITH THE COMPLETE MODEL. and get the part. model starts like 110.xxxxxxxxxxx

the reason the clothes are wet is the washer is not shifting to high spin,does the washer have a speed switch(normal wash spin,high wash spin)if its not the speed switch than the clutch is bad,how old is the washer?mike

CHANGE THE LID SWITCH

I do not have this kind of washer, but I had same problem with my washer and I found the drain trap was full not allowing washer to completely drain. Hope this helps, Good Luck!

you probably need a new clutch (Whirlpool Washer Clutch Kit 285785 fits kenmore too) , or your gear case is shot.

Sounds like the timer has failed. It's a common problem.

• Check that the water supply valves are turned on
• Inspect the filter screens
• Test for overheating
• Inspect the water pump
• Test the water inlet valve.

i have a kenmore 70 series washer model 10020722990
it will fill with water but will not wash. if you put it on spin the water will drain but it will not spin. it sounds like the motor turning. is it a clutch that has broken.
