I'm using Windows 7 and was getting the 9114/9119 "minor error" when trying to install the language files. I copied my files to a flash drive, tried adding exceptions to my AV software (Microsoft Security Essentials), both to process and extension, no go. Then I tried setting the program to run in Compatibility Mode, and lo and behold it worked.
Steps: right-click on the file, click Properties, then the Compatibility tab, and check the box to run in Compatibility Mode.
Hope this works!

This worked for me:
1) Right click on the Rosetta Stone icon in the Start menu
2) Click the "Compatibility" tab
3) Set it to run in compatibility mode with Windows Vista SP2 (mine was defaulted to run in XP compatibility mode, which seemed to be the problem)
4) Start the program again, if you are lucky all mics will now show up

Make sure that your device is set as your default device by making sure that there is a green check mark next to the device. If not, right click and select "set as default device" (or something like that... I have vista and not win7)
If that does not work, right click on the headphones and go to "Properties" then go and under the "General" tab, change the name of the device to "Microphone HS" For some reason, Rosetta Stone does not recognize the headset unless it has the word "Microphone" in its name... Kinda stupid if you ask me. Hope that helps...

I solved by going to Control Panel, Sound, Recording, then click on your mic and click on Configure, and then Set up microphone... Thats probably going to fix your problem... That easy... xD
