How do I find the WPA to set up wireless connection on my new laptop

Some later model wireless routers have the Password (ie.Encryption key) and the SSID already configured in the wireless router and this information is printed on a label on the bottom of the router.
These settings can be used to configure the wireless card and wireless adapters in your computer/laptop.
If these settings do not suit you, then it can be changed to suit your requirements.

The WPA key is the encryption key that is configured in the router's wireless settings and the wireless cards in the laptop and desktop needs to be configured with this encryption setting to allow the laptop and desktop computer to communicate with the router.

Hiya, first thing you should check is that your wireless card/usb on your laptop actually supports WPA. I changed to WPA and 3 out of 5 of my laptops could not log on. Took me an age to find out what was wrong. Try changing back to WEP on both units. If they can both log on then see if you can try to borrow a wireless card that you know supports WPA, change back to WPA settings and see if new card works. Don't even assume that new cards/usb's are all WPA compatible. Friends was bought in Nov and isn't able to run WPA.
