Internet is not forwarded to ports or wifi due to power outage

The power went out for a couple of hours. When the power came bake on the router wasn't doing its job any more. I pugged the ethernet line in my LAN card and the net was working. So the problem is definitely with the router. The thing is I think I tried everything, change settings, reset, hard reset but nothing seems to be working. In the router settings on the status tab it shows that it recognizes the connection to the internet but it doesn't seem to forward it to the LAN ports or wifi. Any help is appreciated!

I tried to reconfigure the router but it is no working.

I meant that I plugged the router back in the outlet.

The really weird thing is that this happened to me a couple of months ago and the router didn't work for 2 day or so and then it just started to do its job again.

I didn't change the configuration and before the power outage the router worked just fine.
I cant figure out why is it doing this.
    Any other ideas.

I also used the web interface to ping a website and it returned me a successful ping but still no internet connectivity if I try to use the browser of surfing.

SOURCE: Router not being recongized

Assumption Tried different ethernet cords,
WLan only blinks when accessing wirelessly, cables imply cable connection, or is this the cable connection between the router and modem.
Routers do NOT require software installed on the pc.
Connect the original pc that worked before the router was installed, by ethernet cable to lan1 port on the router.
type the address http://192.168.0.1 into your choice of browser to open the web interface on the router.
use the wizards of the router web interface to configure the wireless connections, record all settings and transfer to the pcs that should connect wirelessly. the helpscreens are very good and will explain what you are setting
do not install software to drive router to pc

SOURCE: D-Link DI-534 Starting up problems

Try resetting the router . Press the reset button for 10 seconds and after 10 seconds unplug the power cable but continue pressing the reset button for another 30 seconds after 30 seconds plug in back the power cable and continue pressing the reset button for 10 seconds and release it after 10 seconds.

try to open an Internet browser and type in 192.168.0.1 on the address bar. It should give you the DLink page. Once you have that configure your connection.

My Belkin Play N600 won't connect to my Blu Ray player????

Why is Everybody talking about changing the SSID and password? There is no need for that. That is such a wast of time. But yes, if taking the action restoring the router with a hard reset yes you can configure the SSID and password of your choice. But if you are aware of your WiFi SSID and password (and I'm sure you do) then it is not necessary. As for this WiFi complication, you have to consider how your WIFi home network is set up. First off, WiFi is similar to a cordless phone connection. Farther you are away from the receiver the weaker the connection will get.. And just like a cordless phone connection, WiFi uses the same radio frequency 2.4GHz. connection. Also, devices such as Blue Ray, PS3, PS4, and X Box 360, require configuring the port forward settings to enable full features as to what the device can offer. Reason for this, your ISP disables certain ports due to security measures and vulnerability upon home network use. No need to worry about security issues because when dealing with these devices which require extra open ports, we configure that device only to have the access of those needed ports. Other than that, will also consider how many networks reside within your area with how many neighbors have there own home 2.4GHz home networks. Reason for that being is due to the 2.4GHz limited amount of channel frequencies which is only 11 channels. Your routers 2.4GHz radio wave will occupy 1 out of any of those 11 channels Fq Cyz and because of this there can be various amounts of other 2.4Ghz networks using the same channel which causes wifi connection problems for all networks smothering one another within the same channel. Due to that fact, the 5GHz Wifi Connection has been introduced but the disadvantage to that connection is how limited the distance you have to be as well how most devices are not compatible with the 5Ghz connection which does not detect the signal. So by fact, WiFi is a very vulnerable connection. The only connection that is reliable is ethernet (Direct connect).
As for your Blue ray not connecting, make sure that blue ray can detect the SSID your home network is broadcasting. Also consider how far the router is from your BR. If you see your ssid within the settings while you are attempting to connect to WIFI, it should display a signal and if it shows weak, you may have to make a couple of adjustments as to move your router or blue ray closer to one another or consider a repeater to enhance the WiFi connection within your home. If you need a tech to help please call tech support with your ISP.

How do i set up without the installation cd

Try this after you've pressed the small reset button on your router follow this procedure:
  1. Turn off your modem, routers, computer, and wifi receivers, and laptops and printers on the network.
  2. Connect the Wifi router with an internet cable to the modem. The router will have an internet input port (ethernet) that should be labeled differrent than the rest of the ethernet ports on the router. Plug the ethernet into the internet or modem port on the router, and to the modem...DON'T TURN THE MODEM ON YET.
  3. Turn your router's power on and let it cycle up.
  4. Then after the router is up, turn on your modem and let it cycle up. It will find your router as the main MAC address and this will establish communication between router and the internet via modem.
  5. After your modem is cycled and all lights are correct, you can turn on any computer, printer etc... and the router will assign MAC addresses to your printer etc while maintaining a proper internet connection.
that's all you should need...Since you already have a working modem to pc... remember this "firing order" and if you have a power outage or have to move again, you'll be good to go.

Router quite working. Wireless does not work nor

Follow this procedure :
  1. Turn off all components on your network - computer, router, modem, printers and any wifi laptops
  2. With the ethernet cable connected only between the modem and the router TURN THE POWER TO THE ROUTER ON and let it boot up.
  3. Turn on the modem and let it boot up to all lights on.
  4. Connect / boot up any and all other components on your network.
Keep this order handy in case of a power outage. Best of successes!

Playing Online Games Behind The Router

A router uses a combination of hardware and software to prevent unauthorized users or internet traffic from accessing your private local area network (LAN). If your game console, such as Playstation is behind the router, you will need to configure routers Port Forwarding feature in order to play online games.

Note: You will need to get the ports and service type for your games. This is usually available from the games website.

Steps how to configure router to play online games:
  1. Open a browser and type in the following URL: http://www.routerlogin.com or http://192.168.1.1 (depending on the model number of the router)
  2. Type the Username as admin and the Password as password and click OK.
  3. Click on Port Forwarding under Advanced menu.
  4. Then click on Add Custom Service
5. Under Service Name, type the name of the game.
  • Select the Service Type from the drop down menu (depending on the game).
  • Type the Starting Port and Ending Port numbers (depending on the game).
  • Type the IP address of your PlayStation in the Server IP Address box and click Apply.
  • Click on WAN Setup under ADVANCED menu.
    • Check the Disable SPI firewall box
    • Change MTU size from 1500 (which is the default) to 1300 and click Apply.
Now the Playstation is ready to use.

    I hope this helps...

Samsung omnia problem connecting wifi to home router

I was breaking my head for several hours trying to connect my DLink router at home. My network was being displayed as unavailable no matter what settings I try. Then, clicking here and there, I went to the power settings i.e. Settings -> System -> Power and navigated to the WiFi tab at the bottom, and I unchecked the “Enable WiFi power saving-mode” option. Then, like magic, the network turned to connected and I was able to browse the internet w/o any issue.
