HI GUDPM JUST WANNA ASK HOW TO DOWNLOAD FONTS IN NOKIA N7O????

Changing N70 Fonts f you are one of those who do not like the plain default font or if you are a "dare to be different" kind of person then this one is for you! Change the fonts to whatever you have available or whatever suits your taste. Get ready for a little facelift for your phonemag-glass_10x10.gif smile.gif

Some background information: Nokia N70 does not use TTF font files, instead it uses GDR file which is a compilation of all the fonts that will be used by the phone. What we will do in the following steps is select the fonts that we want to use, use an application to compile the GDR file containing those fonts and finally uploading the font to the handset. Alright, time to begin.

#1. Download and install GDR crreator Download it here. http://www.crazylittleworld.com/n70/egdrsetup.zip
#2. Run the application. Dont worry about the funny language. I will explain how to use it to make working fonts.
#3. You will see various tabs in the application. Each tab is there to set the font for a certain part of the phone. The phone preview on the left shows the part where the font belongs. Navigate till you get familiar with what is under each tab.

#4. Under each tab, click browse to select the font, set the size (defaults should work fine unless your font is too small or too big) and select whether you want just the basic character set (ASCII/Unicode) or want all the characters + symbols from that font (Symbian/Unicode). From my experience Symbian/Unicode is only needed for Text Messaging (2nd tab in the application). See the image below for descriptions on application.

Easy GDR

#5. After you've set the font, click the "Compile Font" button (see image below) to add the font to the GDR and have a look at "Preview Font" window to get an idea of what the font will look like on the phone.

Easy%20GDR

#6. Finally, click the "Compile to GDR" button and save the file. Name it as you please.

Easy%20GDR

#7. Now transfer the GDR file to your N70 via Bluetooth. Create a folder named "Fonts" in C:\System and copy the file from inbox to the Fonts folder (like we did with the Screensaver files above). In the end you should get this - C:\System\Fonts\<filename>.gdr

#8. Delete the GDR file from Messaging -> Inbox and restart the phone.

#9. Congratulations, you've just installed new fonts on your N70. quote.gif

Radio Interference affecting the UPS

Erratic operation up to and including load loss due to radio or camera flash operation. Do not operate or let customers operate a radio or a camera flash near the critical power systems, especially if the doors are open. Various manufacturers have recommend not to use these devices near the UPS or other Critical Power Systems.

1. Depending on the physical layout and components used on the control boards, the controls may be affected by an Radio Frequency (RF) signal of relatively low strength at the right (wrong to the control circuits) frequency from a hand held radio.
2. Microprocessor circuits which often have a crystal for clock frequency, may modulate the signal in with the clock frequency and cause the CPU to lock up due to a missed or garbled instruction.

3. Analog circuits with high gains, high impedances, and diodes, may demodulate the RF signal and cause the controls to malfunction.

4. So far, cellular phones have not been detected to cause a problem, but it is still a good idea not to get them too close to the control circuits when in use.

NOTE: Units built for certain military applications must meet RF interference

susceptibility specifications. They have special shielding installed, but

even they may not meet the susceptibility specifications with the doors

opened.

5. It has been witnessed for a UPS to blow inverter fuses when a strobe flash on a camera was charging and the UPS doors were open. The RF from the strobe oscillator caused an inverter bridge to misfire.

6. It has also been seen to knock down a microprocessor controlled UPS when the strobe flashed and caused an EPROM to misread even though the UV eraser window on the EPROM was covered with a label. light still penetrated enough to garble the instruction to the CPU and cause it to lock up.

My nokia n70

formating memory card wont solve your problem, memory card is just a removable storage device.
Folow these steps to format your phone.

1. Make sure you have at least 3/4 charge of battery power left.

2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to mmc memory card.

3. Switch-off your phone.

4. Press and hold these 3 keys; Green dial key, * (star key) and no. 3 key and then press the power on/off to switch on the phone.

Remember, do not let go all of the keys, hold until you see a formatting word screen show!

5. After a few minutes when the full phone formatting completed, your phone will be back to original system and factory setttings.

If that doesnt work, you need to take it to a service centre for a firmware flash. it is risky to do it on your own, you might destroy your phone
