Sounds like the sd card is beginning to give you a problem, if you can find another sd card or just buy one, (they are less then 20 bucks now) copy the software from the original sd card and put it onto the new card. This should clear up the problem since it sounds like the cards lock is worn down to much for the sensor to feel it.

When you changed your charger, did you get the right one?
I bought an iGo and thought I could use the standard min usb tip. However, tip number A53 does charge and show the map.
