If thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

It could still be a battery problem, try and borrow a good battery and insert it in your laptop.

I am getting a flashing green light when I try to charge my batteries on the Pronto M51 what does this mean

why did you change the batteries, did you verify that it wasn't the charger in the first place, sometime the charger will appear to charge but actually isn't. put a meter on one battery then plug in charger if voltage goes up charger is good if not look for loose connections and or bad charger.

Works when connected to charger but no power from battery changed battery still the same

if you disconnect the charger and the battery died then that means that your laptop battery is broken and it won't work untill you get a new one.

With a new motherboard installed, am still having problems with AC power cord and battery. I know battery is getting to end of it's life.Power cord will not power laptop by itself. Laptop will onl

Output of 19 Volts DC at 6.3 Amps is correct. (It isn't the Amperage you have to be concerned about so much. It is the Voltage. Voltage is correct)

Mounted on the motherboard of your laptop is a power correcting chipset.

This chipset senses when the laptop battery needs a trickle charge, or a full charge. It also senses when the laptop is to run straight off of the battery, or the AC adapter. (Charger)

With a Battery being at the end of it's 'Life Cycle', you may be overtaxing this chipset. Can't sense that the laptop needs to run straight off of the AC adapter. Tries to constantly charge the battery.

Replace the Battery.

Or the motherboard isn't worth poo-poo, and has a bad power correcting chipset.
(Don't care if the motherboard is new. Lemons are made)

Some examples of chipset's used in this mode, I am referring to;

Hi,
There isn't enough details, but:
Please unplug the battery (remember to disconnect the charger),
then, hold on the power button for a minute,
after that, connect the charger, and try to power on the laptop.

If it didn't work, you need to visit the technician

If it worked, disconnect the charger and connect the battery
If it worked, things are going well.
If not, the battery have problem.

Please tell us the results

I have Acer Aspire 3680-2022 notebook. I still have power instability after buying a new a/c adapter & new battery. When a/c plugged in, battery can randomly & rapidly drop...I get a lot of...

Hello.

The most common reasons for power issues are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement. If a power jack problem, it should be addressed by someone knowledgeable.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Hope this helps.

The battery does not charge, its a new battery.what do i look for?

if its a new battery it could be as simple as it wasn't charged when you purchased it, If it was charged and your mower isn't charging it, the power source to the battery from the mowers motor isn't working properly,, not knowing if its a 12 or 6 volt system you need to check the battery ,, see which one it is,, using a multimetter ( if its 12v ) check the battery after you charge it with an outside source ( battery charger) you would have a reading of 12-12.5 volts on a normal check,, then start the mower, and check the battery as its running,, you should get a reading of 13-13.5 volts minimum, if your not, the alternator or magneto isn't working properly, if you do show the increased voltage at the battery connections, then you need to clean the contacts since the charge isn't reaching the actual battery

John deere turf tractor has no power, recharged battery for 24 hours but still zero power. Checked all connections, everything is connected. Tractor is approximately 6 months old

check the battery with a multimeter and see if its showing 12 volts or more, if its not showing any volts the connectors on the battery under the plastic housing have probably come disconnected, you'll then have to pry off one side of the battery and reconnect them, if it is showing volts but not 12 or more then put it on the charger for about 8 hours, then check the battery again if it still hasn't went up check the voltage of the charger with the multimeter and make sure that the charger is putting out 13.8 volts or more, iif it isn't then you need a new charger, if it is then you need a new battery

Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced. Whenyou connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED lightup? If not then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's powersocket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DCplug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltageshould be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on thebottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that isprinted on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK thenconnect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/batterycharging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's powersocket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position thisLED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a drysolder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but itrequires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket andrepair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.
