Easyshare converted all of my jpgs to easyshare files

You can find the software at the camera manufacturer site. Or just type in the camera model in your internet search bar with the words "software download" and it should bring you right to the software to be downloaded.

Press the SAVE button, find a place on your hard drive and save the file. Double click the install_easyshare.exe file and it will install the file. Follow the instructions below.

Installation Instructions

1. Verify that your computer meets the system requirements. NOTE: APPLE QUICKTIME Player is required for some software features. Visit APPLE to download the latest version of the QUICKTIME Player.
   
2. Disconnect all accessory devices from your computer (digital camera, camera dock, printer dock, photo printer, card reader, etc.).
3. Verify that you logged on to the computer using the administrator account.
4. Close all programs.
5. Download the software, then follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
6. To launch the software select Start > Programs > Kodak > Kodak EasyShare > Kodak Easyshare software.

IMPORTANT: If you have a large picture collection, allow a few minutes after your computer restarts before starting EASYSHARE Software. EASYSHARE Software windows appear after your previous picture catalog has been updated

After the installation are completed, reboot if not asked to do so. You can copy the install_easyshare.exe file to a CD for later installation if needed.

Uninstall any existing Kodak EasyShare software. Google around for Kodak EasyShare software and include the model of your camera in the search. You may have downloaded a later or earlier version of the software that doesn't support your camera.

Kodak EasyShare software is just a photo-viewing software which isn't really necessary in case you don't know.

The EXIF date and the file system date are two totally separate things. As long as you use tools that maintain the EXIF data you will still have the original information.
I rename my photos using XNview so that the name of the file is based on the EXIF date. i.e. <Date Taken[y-m-d]>(xxx).jpg where xxx is the three digits from the original filename.

For solving your problem it is necessary to remove your Easyshare Software completely from your system. Afterwards you need to install the latest version of Easyshare Software. Please follow the steps below: Remove Easyshare Software Click on 'Start' -> 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel' -> 'Software' Please choose 'Kodak Easyshare Software' Please choose 'remove' Please click on 'next' when installation wizard shows up Please choose 'remove' and click on 'next' Please click on 'next' to start the removal of your Easyshare Software. Please make sure that all files of your Easyshare Software has been removed from your system successfully. For remaining the progress please go to step 2. Even if you couldn’t remove the software or it is still in the list. For running Kodak Clear Utility: Please go to www.kodak.com/go/clear and follow instructions given on screen. Click on 'download'-button below on screen. Please choose 'open' and follow instructions given on screen. Please choose option 'save as' after choosing the download option to run clear utility from your PC. Please choose a save path. Open file clear5N.exe after file has been saved. Click on green starting arrow. The programme is running now. Please note! Please click on 'Ok' should messages appear for which you only have 'Ok' as an option that will make sure that you still run the programme. Should you been asked to restart your computer, please choose 'NO'. You receive the following message when the programme has finished: 'Easyshare files have been removed. Please reinstall Easyshare after system reboots'. Your computer will be restarted now. This action removes Easyshare Software from your system but it won’t delete any pictures or videos. But there is the possibility that you have to recreate your collection after reinstalling the Software. We recommend to download always the latest version of Kodak Easyshare Software. First of all, it's not a good idea to leave that many pictures on a card for any length of time...they may get corrupted. Download to your computer more often. As for your present problem, take the card to a store that has a Kodak picture maker machine (like Walmart). Usually, all the pictures will show up ok and you can print them or even make a cd of them.

connect the cables, then wait for the computer to ask you what you want to do with the photosand select the option that says download and view photos with (the name of your photoviewing software, if you dont have one then download picasa from google for free)

You need to rebuild the picture catalog. Pls. follow the steps below to perform the task:

1. Right-click the Kodak EasyShare software icon on your desktop, then select Properties.
2. Select the Compatibility tab.
3. Clear the check box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for" then clear all the check boxes under Display Settings.
4. Click OK.
5. Right-click the Kodak icon in the system tray, then select Shut Down Kodak EasyShare software.
6. Go to C:\Program Files\Kodak\Kodak EasyShare software\bin.
7. Right-click the Catalog folder, then select Rename.
8. Change the folder name to OldCatalog1, then close the window.
   Note: If you cannot rename the folder, go to Part B.
9. Select Start > Run.
10. Type %temp% in the Run dialog box, then click OK.
11. Open the _Retain folder (if there is one).
12. Double-click the bin folder.
13. Right-click the Catalog folder, then select Rename.
14. Change the folder name to OldCatalog2, then close the window.
15. Delete the backup catalog files ESBK.mb and ESBK.mbb:
    a. Select Start > Search > All files and folders.
    b. Type ESBK in the All or part of the file name box, then click Search.
    c. Delete the two files found (ESBK.mb and ESBK.mbb).
    e. Click Yes to send to the Recycle Bin.
    f. Close the Search Results window.
16. Delete the EasyShare.mc file.
    a. Select Start > Search > All files and folders.
    b. In the All or part of the file name box, type EasyShare.m
    c. Delete any .mc files found.
17. Restart EASYSHARE Software.

Most files you download say from I tunes are "protected" files. They will not transfer. You have to convert it to an MP3 file. I found a free converter on the web that will convert your protected files to MP3 file then you can download it to your photo frame. i just bought one today and it took me ALL DAY to figure this out. What a PAIN! good luck!

This error message indicates that the drivers are not digitally signed by Microsoft. In the event that you receive the error message referenced above, please continue with the install.
