It is a software problem steve.

I have the same printer.3310 HP.

Reinstall your software and this will get fixed.

One of the files is corrupt and is not letting your 3 in one take a jump start.

HP Photosmart 3310 All in One:

Upon powerup provides normal display for several minutes then begins a series of short gearing noises (does this 3 times).

Displays "Scanner Failure - Fails to Scan, Copy, or Fax - Press OK".

If "OK" is selected then print functions work (say a file from Word". Powerdown is ok.

Attempts to use other functions fail and powerdown fails (just hangs)

Is this a software or hardware problem?

Thanks,

Steve

Try running antispyware and virus program to eliminate this, housecall is online, thorough and free. It removes it too. Try and see if updating the actual drivers help off HP website. Check settings to see if it is not accidentally set to only print test page or to work offline or similar, uncheck tabs if they are.

HP Photosmart 3310 All in ONe - only prints partial

Uninstall the Printer software, all of it via ADD/REMOVE programs, then go to device manager and un-install the printer, plus physically un-install it.

re-0install everything fresh and in the printer software, turn off any options to auto update. If the printers working fine then you dont really need the update.

If it aint broke, dont fix it.

If its under warranty, contact HP or check there site, i'll bet theres other people with similar issues, there may be a fix.

HP 3310 - problem with black ink supply

I heard you can get the 3310 to do a pump up the tubes cycle but i don't know how to make it do it. Pressing the ok and cancel buttons when you power up didn't work for my machine. Which has too died a inkless black death!

Photosmart 3310 is on network but not recognized wirelessly

Sounds like another Vista Bug, i would check the HP site for this issue and if its under warranty, contact HP. If you have alot of Blue tooth devices hooked up, it may be that its trying to use another device in its place or the signals are getting crossed, im not positive.

Its like when you have to many network drives all hooked up and you plug in a USB device, Windows pops up those anoying bubles saying its detected, but in My computer it doesnt show.

So bassically you have to right click my computer, manage, disk management listed uder storage, right click on the device or drive and change the drive letter to something like " W" or " Z" or anything not in use.

It may be a siomilar case with your bluetooth, youo may have to much stuff connected. Try redoing everything like you have so many other times before, and then limiting how many bluetooth devices you have connected at the same time. see if theres a difference.

Hope this helps.
