Device out of range or powered off

My LG VX-5400 (Verizon) paired without any problem with my Plantronics Explorer 220 bluetooth headset for a couple of weeks when suddenly it stopped doing so. It displays "device out of range or powered off" each time I try to pair it again even though the headset is fully charged and next to the phone. Any idea how to fix this?

SOURCE: bluetooth "device out of range or powered off"

I had lots of trouble too. I thought it was my phone. Well here's what you do. First off remove the device completely from your phone. Turn off the phone and take the battery off so it can re-boot. When the phone is powered back up put your bluetooth in pairing mode and get it back on your phone. It should connect without any problems. Now....here is the trick. When you want to disconnect the device(bluetooth) from your phone don't turn it off on your phone. Shut the actual power off on your bluetooth. The phone will recognize this and disconnect the device. The only thing left on your phone will be the bluetooth icon. Being the icon still on your phone it is still in discovery mode and can overtime use up your battery life searching for a device. This is when you can go to your phone and turn off the bluetooth. On your NV 2 go to your bluetooth menu and just use your left softkeyto turn it off. Now there is no connection whatsoever. And to turn it back on do the opposite. Go to your bluetooth menu and turn on your bluetooth. You will see the bluetooth icon. Now you power up the bluetooth and it will connect as soon as it get the signal. This took me 2 weeks of trial and error and other stuff but I am happy now and I hope this solves any bluetooth problems...

How to link my blue tooth

Pairing the Plantronics Explorer 220:

For most phones, select Settings/Tools, Connections, Bluetooth, On. See your phone's user guide for more information.

With the 220 headset powered off, turn on the headset by pressing and holding the call control button for approximately 5 seconds until the LED flashes red & blue. The Explorer 220 headset is now in pairing mode. If you don't see the red/blue flash, press and hold the power button to turn your headset off, and then press and hold the power button again and hold for 5-6 seconds until you see the red & blue flash.

From your phone, go to the Bluetooth menu and select "Search" or "Add Device". Your phone should find the headset which will appear as "2xxPlantronics" in your list of devices.

If prompted for the Passkey (PIN code), enter 0000. If your phone asks for a PIN/passkey, enter 0000 (4 zeros). Pairing is successful when the LED on your headset flashes blue. Your headset is now connected and ready to use.

Can you use one bluetooth for two phones at the same time?

While the Explorer 220 has the "quick pair" feature, it does not have "multi-point" which allows you too pair the headset to more than one device at a time.

I have a plantronics explorer 220 bluetooth headset, and a nokia 6500classic. My telephone do not find the headset bluetooth. It is this 2 items compatible?

Check that both devices have activated Bluetooth connectivity. Check that the distance between the two devices is not over 33'. Make sure that the Plantronics bluetooth Explorer is not hidden on your phone. Sometimes the bluetooth activations are not easily accessed. Here is a link to the Explorer 220 pairing instructions for you to try.

My lg cu920 can't read my plantronic 220 what can i

Do you mean it "can" or can't connect to your CU920?
If your CU920 is already paired to a computer or other device this first pairing must be stopped before the steps below will work.
On the Bluetooth headset: 1. Turn your headset ON. 2. Hold down the headset power button until the power indicator light blinks an alternating red & blue.

Then using your CU920.... 3. Turn Bluetooth ON, 4. Search "New Device," 5. Under "devices found" select your headset. 6. Select "Add." The CU920 will ask for a passcode. 7. Enter "0000" (four zeros) the default for the Explorer 220.
The Plantronics earpiece should automatically "pair" with your CU920.

Plantronics Explorer 220 bluetooth won't pair with LG NV3 phone. It's in discovery mode and I'm getting the red/blue flashing on the bluetooth like the manual says, but it just keeps searching and will not...

Well I got it working, of course, try turning the phone off on again instead of just the bluetooth, it worked. I should have done that before posting the question.
