Colors are not printing properly

The black ink seems to be leaking into the yellow. Anything we print with yellow comes out muddy at best but generally closer to black. the yellow ink cartridge has black in it after just a couple of uses (after replacing the yellow).

Canon pro 9000 printing not printing vibrant colors

I've had 5 Pro9000 & Pro9000 II's so far. Mechanically sound and fairly heavy duty. Mostly by default they print muddy or muted, with unsatisfactory reds and yellows. The default settings usually suck. I have had to develop my own driver settings and save them to printer profiles for individual situations. There is a lot of control in the driver settings and I recommend making your own color charts for reference, displaying the settings on each page. I also recommend regular nozzle checks and calibration. Avoid cleaning via the driver utility as this wastes a lot of ink, which is all deposited on the bottom of your printer and eventually has to be dealt with. Instead, remove and soak the head. Completely dry before reinstalling.

Wrong Color Printing

Hi,
Type "print nozzle test" in the search box and click Search. Perform a nozzle test, and if the colors match what are on the instructions, your print head and inks are OK.

(1) If the print head and inks check out OK, type "wrong colors on print" in the search box, and you will see several troubleshooting steps you can try.

(2) If the nozzle test colors are off, confirm that you are using BCI-6 inks for all three colors and the small black tank. You should only have a BCI-3 tank in the large black position. If you have all the correct inks, your machine probably needs to be serviced/ repaired.

If any of the ink cartridges need to be replaced the printer will not work. Also, if you are printing only black you will need to go into print properties and select black.

I changed all Print cartridges-Black, Yellow,Cyan,Blue

On this machine you have to install inks with power on and use the ink button and choose replace ink. If you just plug them in it won't register and reset the counts. You may need to run clean cycles at least twice to get proper colors.

Anything we print with yellow comes out muddy at best but generally closer to black.

Look at your yellow ink cart. if it looks dark or almost black then the membrane in the printhead is bad allowing contamination of the yellow ink. Otherwise the nozzle check print will tell you if colors are missing, clogged or burned out nozzles means you need a new printhead also...

Yellow Prints in the other colors

Problem seems to be with your Ink Tank(s) or Printing Head. Replace both of them one by one and retry.
