Recall on like Dishwasher--when they repaired mine I think the put in bad part

I was just on the Whirlpool website, who makes my Kenmore dishwasher. I just remembered they came out over a year ago and replaced parts near heater/motor. Looking at the recall I think this maybe what's causing my thermal fuse to blow. What do you think?? Thanks for the help! Gina

There was a recall on certain models of Kenmore dishwashers. This recall was to replace the heating element. If it lasted a year it is possible that the element could have went bad again, but not likely. There are several things that can cause the thermal fuse to blow. I would recommend having and authorized repair company take a look at it for you as the part they installed over a year ago would no longer be under warranty.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Thermal fuse for Whirlpool Quiet Partner II

mantal, first thing I would check would be the power connections. I have seen a lot of these fuses blown because of loose wire nuts to line and nuetral. If that is ok, suspect one of the componets overheating. Ohm out the motor windings, with the capacitor disconnected. Should be around 3-7 ohms, run windings, 6-10 aux. windings. Check the tech sheet behind the toe panel to make sure. Next, heater element. Look for damaged element. Should ohm at 10 to 30 ohms. Leads disconnected, power off on all tests. Look for any loose connection on any harnesses. Catriver

SOURCE: Kenmore Dishwasher, no power

There will be a thermal fuse located on the electronic control board housing that may have failed. This replaceable part (gray or white) is clipped on to the side of the plastic housing.

SOURCE: Kenmore dishwasher Troubleshooting

Watch the light closely. If it blinks 7 times then pauses, this indicates a heater or door latch issue.

  • Press the following buttons in sequence: Hi Temp Wash, Heated Dry, Hi Temp Wash, Heated Dry, Hi Temp Wash.If this doesn't work, check the tech sheet. (should be stuck to inside of the bottom toe panel)
  • All lights should illuminate then a diagnostic sequence will start.
  • Listen carefully, as soon as you hear the water begin to fill, open the door and feel the heater. if cold, check the heater for continuity (should be around 10ohms)
  • Also, bend the door catch on the dishwasher tub downward, this will engage the door latch better. Don't bend too far as it will hit the door while closing.

SOURCE: Where is the thermal fuse for Kenmore 665 11073342 dishwasher?

The thermal fuse is located in the front control panel where the circuit board is. You need to remove 4 screws(depending on the type of dishwasher you have) and you will see it. Make sure you change everything not just the fuse but the new wires also.

Hope this fixes your problem

SOURCE: Have kenmore quiet partner 1 dishwasher. Fuse

You didn't list model number. remove screws on inside of door to have access to controls. There should be a thermal fuse square object with two wires attached. Some brands now come with short pigtail wires, so bad terminals are eliminated. IF it's a kenmore, then go to www.searspartsdirect.com You can see parts diagram there.

My kenmore dishwasher does not start

Perhaps it is defect? perhaps just a circuit breaker tripped?
If it is getting power, does not give any warning and still does not run, ask certified electrician or engineer to look what is wrong.

My quiet partner 111 whirlpool dishwasher is flashing clean

Hello.
Manufactured by Whirlpool, Kenmore dishwashers have an electronic control panel that must be unlocked in order to set or make changes to your dishwashing cycle. If an error light is blinking on your dishwasher's control panel, the panel must be reset before you can gain access. Blinking lights on your dishwasher control panel may signal a mechanical problem that needs to be repaired. If the lights continue to blink after you've reset the control panel, contact Sears to service your Kenmore dishwasher or consider troubleshooting the appliance yourself.
1Press and hold the "Heated Dry" button on your Kenmore dishwasher for four seconds to unlock the dishwasher control panel.
2 Press the "Heated Dry," "Normal Wash," "Heated Dry" and "Normal Wash" buttons one after the other, in fairly quick succession.
3 Wait for the dishwasher to run a short diagnostic test.
4 Press the "Cancel/Drain" button at the end of the diagnostic test cycle. This should reset the control panel on your Kenmore dishwasher.

Thanks.

I found part number 8557720 laying in my Kenmore dishwasher. I'm trying to figure out where it goes. Can't seem to find a site that shows where this part is supposed to be. Any suggestions?

I think this is the top sprayer on your dishwasher. Mine also pulled apart by itself on each dishwashing. I am purchasing the spare part in hoping that it will not do this again.

Dishwasher does not drain

First...make sure you visit the Bosch dishwasher recall website as this model is under the recall with a faulty controller which may cause a fire!  Check your model under http://microsites.boschappliances.com/safetyrecall/dishwasher/

then call 800.856.9226 to setup a recall repair appointment.  We just found out about this recall and was never notified by Bosch even though we registered our unit after we purchased it...talk about poor customer service!  Hope this helps!

Kenmore Elite 17483 Dishwasher Caught Fire!

Had the exact same problem (Control panel burning up, sparking, and smoking during wash cycle) last night with our Kenmore Elite DW model 665.16293400 purchased Nov. 2004. I have reported it to the CPSC and www.kitchenaidfire.com and will be contacting Sears first thing tomorrow. It is outrageous that this problem is apparently so widespread with nothing being done about it! I have no doubt my kitchen would have been in flames if I had not been sitting right here to shut off power to the D/W.

Dishwasher Non functioning

Disconnect power immediately! Several brands of dishwashers have had safety recalls over the past few years with bad switches or the rinse aid liquid leaking inside doors or inner insulation reacting with the wirering's insulation, in some cases causing fires. If you google dishwasher recall you will see GE, Maytag, Whirlpool/ Kenmore...... When you search or enter model numbers make sure you use complete model and serial numbers. If you leave off a letter or get one wrong the sites might tell you your model is not involved in the recall. I wish I was on my work computer now,... I'd include some photos of dishwashers which I serviced which did burn. Please leave a comment with your model and serial number.

Need to reset overflow switch

The Bosch dishwasher has a logic system for the event of a leak. there is a float in the pan under the dishwasher. If any debris gets under the float and it cannot return to normal position. The dishwasher will not fill and only drain. The solution is to take off the toe kick plate and look with a flashlight on the left side. There is a depression and a styrofoam float, a narrow vacuum can be used to vacuum any debris from under the float. If there is no debris then the switch is stuck and requires replacement about $30.00 for the part but requires removal and partial disassembly of the dishwasher. I bet the problem is debris under the float. I hope this helps.
