SOURCE: Video going out on Samsung LCD

If you shine a lamp at an angle on the screen, can you see a faint image? If you can, then the backlight has gone out. If your picture has acquired a pinkish tinge while it is working "normally", this would be a strong indication that one of the fluorescent tubes in the backlight is going bad. Inverter failure is another possibility.

Samsung has a 1 year warranty. The catch is that you have to take it either to the dealer or to a factory-authorized service center to collect, and "The original dated bill of sale must be presented upon request as proof of purchase to SAMSUNG or SAMSUNG's authorized service center." You need to contact Samsung Customer Service before taking the TV in for repair.

SOURCE: lcd tv hookup

Ive got 3 samsung tv's (lcd, plasma, DLP) and I use HDMI cables on all of them. Its the only way to get the full potential out of the tv. When you use the red/white/yellow RCA cables the signal is anolog aka "old technology". Component cables are good but HDMI is the best. HDMI is a digital signal and thats what all the components that go with the tv should be run on. If your dvd player does not have an HDMI output I would suggest getting one that has that output. As for the cable box most require you to upgrade to digital cable in order to get one with an HDMI output. If you dont want to spend the money on new components and run what you have now the picture will stay mediocre at best. Good luck hope this helped

SOURCE: NEED MANUAL FOR SAMSUNG MODEL LNT 1953H LCD 19''

..review of the product and related issues:

http://www.amazon.com/review/R2LL7LEO1ABLU8

Crutchfield's take on that model and it 'ease of use issues':

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-rsaLPNJLHDO/p_305LNT1953/Samsung-LN-T1953H.html

..more specifications from that site + related comments:

...manual download page for 19" LCD series:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/detail/supportPrdDetail.do?menu=SP01&prd_mdl_name=LN19B360C5D

Rule of thumb is check a similar product in case you can't find exactly what you want. Discussions on those other sites indicate they only have "user guides" for the LNT 1953H LCD 19" ..and nothing in the way
of serious service manuals (i.e. for the consumer).

SOURCE: Samsung 2333HD to dvd/vcr combo

Hi there,

On a DVD/VCR combo unit....the Component Output (RED, GREEN, BLUE) is exclusive to the DVD player section only (VCR can only output analogue source) and will only be able to view DVD.

To watch VCR, you will need to connect to your TV via Composite (YELLOW) cable, into the Yellow AV input on your TV. You can then tune the VCR section to match your TV's RF input (if you prefer this connection).

Good luck...

Connecting my new samsung blu-ray player (bd-fm57c) to my toshiba theaterview tv.

I don't think that cord will work. HDMI carries video and audio signals, you might get video but probably no sound. You might as well try anyway though so here goes... The red green and blue plugs are your video and the other red plug and the white plug is for stereo sound. The yellow plug is just a lower quality video plug. So plug in the red blue and green plugs into the component video inputs on the TV then the red and white plugs into the audio inputs. DON'T plug in the yellow plug. If this doesn't work go to your local home theater store and ask for a receiver or switcher that will downscale high def HDMI to component video and stereo audio. You can probably pick up a cheap one for around $100. Good luck!

How can i play ps2 on lcd without having a black and white screen ? how can i connect the cables ?.....when i look at the back of my lcd i find three ports (red white yellow) when i use them the screen is...

1) The set of input (Yellow= Composite video, Red= Right channel audio, White= Left channel audio). This set of input is for composite video.

2) The set of input (Red= Red video signal, Green= Green video signal + sync, Blue= Blue signal, Red= Right channel audio, White = Left channel audio (the Red and White will be grouped close together). This set of input is used for Component video for HD signal.

You should try using composite video source (Yellow RCA jack) from DVD player and feed to the monitor and see if it works OK with all color showing that way we acn find out if it is the video source problem or the monitor video signal processing problem. Try the PS2 on the TV if it works OK also.

ShubhangiWe try to connect CD player with Samsung LCD TV. CD Player is having Three Component Yellow, Red,White. It dont have Blue and green components.What to do ???

Hi, Component input connectors use the colour convention
Green = Y (luminance signal)
Red = Pr or Cr (Red colour difference signal)
Blue = Pb or Cb (Blue colour diffrence signal)

Composite input connectors use the colour convention
Yellow = CVBS (composite video, blanking, sync)
Red = Audio Right
White = Audio Left

for compatibility both units will need to have matching colours. note the component inputs do not have audio and as such will also have a set of red & white connectors for use with the audio signals too ( rule of thumb Component = 5 connectors, composite=3 connectors)

Hi Have Vizio Flat Screen and a Denon 3803 receiver. The Tv a Vizio 65 Inch flat screen was here. Out of the wall is a power cord and red,blue,green monster cable. Red and Blue is audio and green video I...

Red, Green and Blue cables together typically denotes a component video signal - an Analog, High Definition transportation for video. This cable does not carry audio, you need another cable to hook up audio between the DVR and receiver. You can use either an RCA stereo cable (red and white), optical-audio, HDMI, or a whole plethora of other audio cables. I would recommend optical or HDMI to get the most out of your system.

I need to plug in a Xbox 360 into a samsung flat screen t.v using the : red yellow and white . And the green red and blue . . how should i go about this .... because im not sure wherre the cords go exactly...

You will use the red and white connections for your right and left audio, those go into an"INPUT" on the TV, then you will either use yellow, or red-blue-green for your video, not both, either yellow, or red-blue-green.
Make sure you connect all cords audio and video into the same row or group of jacks on the back or side of your TV.
Good Luck !

XBox Audio Problems

The red, blue and green are ONLY the Video outputs, and connect colour to colour, now, there are Two other connections, again coulor to coulor, usually red & white, that hook up to the Stereo INPUT. So you need BOTH sets to work IE: The Video & Audio. Video: Blue, Red, Green. Audio: Red & White.
