You can always you special vpn service for establishing the connection. There is a myth that they slow down the speed on the internet but I used this website and my internet was as fast as it was before using vpn. Hence, you shouldn't believe it. Try to use such a service first, I am sure this is what you need.

What is the best modem to connect to the internet via VPN?

This is a known issue with that modem and Comcast wont support VPN from residential installations. If you want to change modems that don't have this issue, get a Motorola surfboard. If you want to change settings on the one that you have because of the protocols for assignment of addresses let me know

I am trying to configure my new NBG4115 3G router connexion, but when I try to connect to the Zyxel setup screen via http://192.168.1.1 the Tilgin home screen appears. My present router here in our home is...

Either your web-browser has "cached" the web-page previously delivered by the TILGIN,
or your computer is still connected to the TILGIN.

In the former case, "reload" the web-page.
In the latter case, turn off the TILGIN router, and try again to connect to the ZYXEL router.
Also, check that your network-cables are correctly connected to one of the LAN ports on the ZYXEL router.

Unable to connect VPN using Arris Modem & Comcast Router

hi, mate check firewall settings of your modem/router. Then contact your IT administrator and he should be able to make changes to configurations for you. In most cases if server classify's your connection as unsafe it rejects it.

Problem with VPNand Linksys router WRT150N

If that is the case you may forward ports on the router for VPN connection, try to open 47, 500 and 1723 all TCP and UDP protocol.

Here's what you need to do, check the IP address of the computer where you have the VPN software,

here's how:
click start> run> type cmd> hit okay
on the black screen put in ipconfig and check the IP address there,

> when you get the IP address then we can enable port forwarding on the router

> open IE on the working computer on the address bar, type 192.168.1.1

> nothing for username and password is admin in lower case

> then click on the applications and gaming tab on the router,

> and from there, example of how to field that in is like this,

> for aaplication name - VPN1
> for port it is 47 to 47
> for protocol it is BOTH
> for IP address ex. 192.168.1.XX - 192.168.1.100
> then check enable, do the same thing for the rest of the port.
> save the settings and try it again after.

> if it is still nothing, you may connect the computer that has the VPN connection directly to the modem and check if you will be able to connect via VPN

i'll wait for your response, thank you and have a nice day!

I have netgear wpn824 wireless router and it works fine until I try to connect to my work server through their Sonicwall VPN. If I unplug the netgear and go straight into my computer through the DSL modem...

Two routers on two different sets of internal IP addresses will cause all kinds of conflicts. A VPN router is even worse. VPNs (virtual private networks) are designed to create encrypted tunnels between two computers. The computer its set to connect to must be authorized either as a user or a device with proper credentials. If your VPN authorizes devices based on MAC addresses, then unless your router's MAC address was previously authorized, youre not going to connect. Lets take the router out of the equation for a second. Do you have a working broadband connection from the sonicwall that the router can be plugged into? If you do, then you can treat this connection to your router like its a cable modem or DSL. If this connection has manual settings (such as IP address, default gateway, and primary and secondary DNS addresses) you will need these settings too. Post back and keep us updated...

Moto Surfboard SBG900 and VPN Client = SLOW

Hi,
Please see the specicification, also check with you company
IT Admin, to release it to the Max speed or to check the
net work cable, may be too long, also Test the cable with a Data Test meter and conform the data quality. Or change the port from main router.
Otherwise change the whole networking router.
