APC UPS BR 1300 continuous beep warning means what?

Continuous beep twice. On/Off power switch does not perform diagnostic tests, but actually turns off the computer which is plugged in. The battery warning icon is not blinking. The online icon is on , I am reading 119-120 volts there are 5 lit bars in the battery charge window and the load capacity window is showing a very low reading.

SOURCE: APC Back-UPS ES 500: green light flashes&continuous warning tone

On this unit, the likely culprit is the battery and that it needs to be replaced.

With that, you may want to think about the pros and cons of replacement versus buying an entirely new unit.

This unit is a relatively low end ups and the surge supression uses MOVs that wear out with repeated absorption of energetic spikes. That's why the better (and higher cost) UPSs and surge suppressors don't use them. They're not really that good anyway due to their relatively high transient impedance. The better equipment uses a "transorb" -- basically a back-to-back high voltage zener diode optimized for low breakover impedance and high instantaneous power capability. Unless the transient exceeds the design parameters of the circuit, these do not wear out and do not degrade. That being said, I will assume that you would likely replace this unit with a similar one.
The flashing may not be the battery at all and may be the charging circuitry, thus your new battery may not live very long (half the life that you would expect.

Many batteries out there are refurbs and have issues as all used parts do.

If you contact APC, they will likely give you a 35% discount on purchasing a new product.

The difference in price in the battery replacement vs. ups replacement at this level may only be a few dollars more.

I promise that I am not a UPS salesman, I just deal with many on a daily basis; therefore I am giving my two cents to try to thelp you avoid problems a year from now.

Testimonial: "Outstanding answer with right amount of detail. I swapped battery with identical APC UPS that I have and vfd that battery was cause of warning tone."

SOURCE: In My APC UPS, continuous beep sound is coming

Unfortunately that signals an internal fault with the UPS and it requires immediate replacement / repair. Do not continue to use the UPS at all.

SOURCE: What does it mean by the beep sound from the UPS ES 350 unit?

Ok, 3-4 years is a much as you can expect from an ups battery so replacement is indicated. The beeps are letting you know the battery is not able to keep up with demand. So either you have recently added to the system or the battery/s failing.

I connected 8, 100Ah battery with APC 2.2KVA inverter, now it doesnt give correct battery indication and keep producing beeping noise, whats the problem?

Continuous Beeping (theamber On Battery LED will be illuminated)
This alarm indicates that the UPS has reached aLow Battery condition and will soon shutdown. The UPS can only operate onbattery for a limited amount of time. In order to protect the unit's batteriesfrom discharging too much, the UPS will shutdown and turn off its output. Towarn you that the unit will soon shutdown, the UPS will sound this alarm 2minutes before actual shutdown. With optional Powerchute Plus software, 2minutes can be changed to 5, 7, or 10 minutes to give you more of a warning ofimpending shutdown. If you hear this tone, you should immediately gracefullyshutdown your operating system to prevent data loss or corruption.
Note:This graceful shutdown will occur automatically if Powerchute PLUS software isbeing used.

Constant, Solid Tone (the red Overload LEDwill be illuminated)
This alarm indicates that the UPS has detectedan Overload condition. If this alarm is sounded, try removing non-essentialequipment. The alarm will remain until the load is reduced. To determine ifyour UPS is capable of handling the equipment you want to protect, visit APC'sSizing Guide at www.apcc.com/sizing.

Continuous Beeps for One Minute; RepeatedEvery 5 Hours (Replace Battery LED will be illuminated)
This alarm indicates that the UPS has failed itsSelf-Test of the battery. The unit will continue to sound this alarm until theunit passes the test. Try to let the unit charge for a few hours and thenperform another Self-Test (Press and hold the on/off button until the second'chirp', then release). If it fails and the unit is still in-warranty (twoyears from date of purchase), then contact APC. If the unit fails and its outof warranty, then order a replacement battey cartridge through your reseller, distributor, or from APC's web site.

Strange noise comes out from the ups after a power cut

The Back-UPS Office unit has five different tones or alarms:

Ive got a smart UPS 4 2 0 APC and i dont know what the beeps mean?

It depends upon the beep. When it is a long beep, it means that the battery is running out. You need to charge it first before using.

When you hear beeps but not a continuous one, it indicates that the UPS is charging and it should automatically stop.
