Have you ever tried to restore it into factory settings?
Be careful, by doing so will erase all your data on it. But don't worry, you can recover music from ipod after restore it into factory settings.

SOURCE: ipod touch v2 stuck at itunes connect

your ipod was jailbroken and now it is not.
no worries, go to quickpwn.com

Download the quickpwn software and jailbreak your ipod.
It's pretty easy,

but first what I would do, is download the itouch firmware version you want to restore to.
the file name will be something like this: iPod1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw

Put your ipod in DFU mode:
Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} Plug the usb cable into the Ipod and NOT into the computer.
Hold the Home Button down for 5 second (do not release it)
Then Press and hold the Power Button for approx 10 secs (count them out)
Your iPod will reboot.
Release the power button and continue holding the Home button for an additional 27secs.
You may see the screen go blank or not.
Plug the USB end into the computer with itunes open.
Your ipod will mount in recovery mode.
Restore it by pressing Restore and Shift at the same time. This will allow you to select the ipod firmware you downloaded.
Restore it and then do your jailbreak.
It will ask for the same firmware version you just restored to.
find it on your computer and do the J/B
I have the firmware on my computer, shoot me an email and i will send it,just let me know if you have a 1st Gen or 2nd Gen

If this post helps you please leave a vote in fixya

How do you upgrade ipod touch 2nd gen to be able to play fifa 11 we thought this was a 3rd gen when bought from argos in feb10 but told 3rd gen is onle 32gb or 64gb

to update your ipod touch second gen to 4.1 version you must connect to your itunes account on your computer with ipod attatched sync all apps, music, videos, everything because it will delete everything and needs everything backed up. then go to your ipod on itunes and it will say update, click it it will take around half an hour to update and restore you ipod fully. This worked for my ipod touch gen 2, it kept saying when i tried to update i still have things on my ipod not synced to itunes when i have synced multiple times but it updated ok and i do not notice anything missing. this is all i know about this i hope it helps.

How do i transfer files from itunes to ipod shuffle

First, and most obviuos, plug in your iPod. iTunes should automatically pop up and recognize your iPod shuffle. How many gigs can it hold? When you plug in your iPod to your authorized account, you shuold automatically see iTunes transferring songs into your iPod.
If not, manually transfer songs into your iPod. Select your iPod on the left hand panel of iTunes, where you can look into your iPod. Next, look at the menu that pops up when you click your iPod (it shold show you your iPod, how mny gigs it can hold, etc.). Click 'Manually transfer songs'. From there, you can choose which songs to download into your iPod from iTunes (whichever songs are checked in the little boxes on the left of your songs in your iTunes).

Good luck!

Have you tried restoring the iPod yet?
Use the Five Rs to restore the iPod. You will lose the data that is currently on it if you restore but you can always re-sync the data to the iPod.

Settings/content pane in itunes for adding songs does not show up

The 5 Rs: Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall, Restore
Remember these five basic suggestions if you have a problem with iPod shuffle. Try
these steps one at a time until the problem is resolved. If one of the following doesn’t
help, read on for solutions to specific problems.
â Reset iPod shuffle by turning it off, waiting five seconds, and then turning it back on
again.
â Retry with a different USB port if you cannot see iPod shuffle in iTunes.
â Restart your computer, and make sure you have the latest software updates
installed.
â Reinstall iTunes software from the latest version on the web.
â Restore iPod shuffle. See “Updating and Restoring iPod shuffle Software” on
page 26.

CLARIFICATION

Set your computer up so that you & your brother have different user accounts on your computer. This can be done via parental controls in windows Vista & xp (parental controls> create user). Once you do that, download the most recent itunes. You'll see itunes on both user accounts

Be sure to back up your music or you'll both have to create new libraries. When you sync your ipods, itunes will automatically recognizw which model ipod you have & update the software accordingly. I have my wife, both kids & I have all our ipods synced on 1 computer this way (Gen 3 30 gig, 2 gen 2 nanos, & a shuffle).
