Oven burning food

Don't worry my wife does the same thing. Not sure if your talking about the range top or the baking potion. We'll assume the baking area. If your using cheap bakeware that could be part of the problem try using a different cake or loaf pan of heavy construction. Also you may try reducing your temp in 25 degree increments to see if your oven runs hot. Example buy 3 cheap frozen pizzas and if they say value at 400 try 375 , 350, and 325. If one of those temps gives the desired result assist accordingly and consider contracting Bosch customer service to inquire about how to fix thermostat errors.hope that helps I didn't have much to work with.

I have a kenmore mark 1 oven in my apartment and the oven temperature says 1-9 instead of going in degrees such as 100, 350 etc. I am wondering which number stands for which heat?

This Conversion table is from the old Gas Mark scale
I'm thinking it should be right or at least pretty close.
You could also get a cheap ($5-7) oven thermometer from local grocery store.
Put it inside oven to check actual temp achieved.

Gas mark Fahrenheit Celsius
1⁄4 225° 107°
1⁄2 250° 121°
1 275° 135°
2 300° 149°
3 325° 163°
4 350° 177°
5 375° 191°
6 400° 204°
7 425° 218°
8 450° 232°
9 475° 246°

I have a frigidaire stove that heats to 50 degrees hotter than the know setting. Can it be adjusted to read correctly?

There is a calibration method to adjust the oven thermostat plus/minus 35 degrees if it is a digital display. The method varies depending on the model range. This calibration method is used to adjust the thermostat if it is not keeping proper tempature. For example if you are setting the oven to 350 and the actual temp it is keeping is 325 then you could use the calibration method to adjust it plus 25 degrees to correct the temp. Just so you know electric ovens will keep a pretty even temp but gas ovens will vary by 40 or more degrees to keep an "average" temp. For example the burner will come on when the oven is 330 degrees and turn off at 370. 330+370 then divide by 2=350. So a oven thermometer may not show you the temp you set it at in a gas oven but does not mean the oven temp is off.

GE oven temperature is not true, and needs to be reset. Oven temp reads 350, but is actuallyonly 325. Can you help?

The temperature is within manufactures specifications.
By that I mean that the majority of manufactures allow a tolerance of + or - 10 % of the set temperature.
So, in your case, 10% of 350 degrees is 35 degrees, thereby showing that the actual temperature you are obtaining is well within the 10% allowance.
I hope this helps you .

Oven tempture

The solution I am proposing here only applys to electric ovens and not micro wave ovens.
The usual reason for fluctuating oven temperatures is a faulty or out of calibration thermostat.
Some thermostats can be recalibrated, but in my experience, it is better to replace it.
Another reason for fluctuating temperatures is a badly fitting oven door, or a worn or faulty door seal, the door should be a good firm fit agaist the seal.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Amana Convection oven not controlling temp

I have just checked the baking guide in the manual and have found that it may not be us after all. (Maybe this is why they telll us to read the whole manual. Well, I never have) According to the cooking time for Baking, the range is very extensive. For example, an angel cake at 350 could take from 28-50 minutes, buscuits at 375-400 could take 8-16 minutes, layer cakes at 350-375 could take 25-40 minutes, pound cakes at 325-350 could take 45-70 minutes and fresh pies at 400-450 could take 35-60 minutes. Basically, the baking directions on the box means absolutely nothing to use Amana oven owners. We have no choice but to cook our food or baked goods until they are cooked, whenever that may be. :) Linda
