Caller ID does not display name on Nortel phone

To save caller ID with a name in Panasonic KX-AT7730, you need to follow these steps:

Press the "Program" button on the phone.
Dial "9" to enter the "Caller ID" setting.
Dial "1" to enter the "Caller ID Memory" setting.
Dial the memory location number (0-99) where you want to save the caller ID and name.
Enter the caller's phone number using the keypad.
Press the "#" button to move to the next field.
Enter the caller's name using the keypad (use the alphanumeric keys to enter letters).
Press the "#" button again to save the entry.
Repeat steps 4-8 for each caller ID you want to save.

Note: Caller ID service must be enabled on your phone line for this feature to work. Also, make sure you have enough memory locations available in your phone's memory to save new caller IDs.

If the display never shows caller ID info, check with your phone service provider to be sure caller ID is active on your account. If the display sometimes shows only number instead of caller ID, write down the number. Then go to www.okcaller.com and search the number. Some business names will show up. Often you will at least find out what city & state the caller is from.

Caller ID
If you subscribe to caller ID service, information about each caller appears after the first or second ring. If you answer a call before the caller information appears on the screen, it will not be saved in the caller ID log. The caller ID log stores up to 50 entries. Each entry has up to 24 digits for the phone number and 15 characters for the name. If the telephone number has more that 15 digits, only the last 15 digits appear. If the name has more than 15 characters, only the first 15 characters are shown and saved in the caller ID log. Review a caller ID log entry Press CID when the phone is not in use. Scroll to browse through the caller ID log. When the desired entry appears: Press repeatedly to show different dialing options. Press 1 repeatedly if you need to add or remove 1 in front of the phone number. Press or to dial the displayed number. Delete a caller ID log entry When the desired caller ID log entry displays, press DELETE. Delete all caller ID log entries Press MENU when the phone is not in use. Scroll to Caller ID log and then press SELECT. Scroll to Delete all and then press SELECT twice.
Call block
If you subscribe to caller ID service, you can set the telephone to block unknown calls and certain undesired calls. The call block list stores up to 20 entries. Block unknown calls Press MENU when the phone is not in use. Scroll to Call block, and then press SELECT. Scroll to Calls w/o num, and then press SELECT. Scroll to choose Not block or Block, and then press SELECT. Add a call block list entry 1. Press MENU when the phone is not in use. 2. Scroll to Call block, and then press SELECT. 3. Scroll to Block list, and then press SELECT. 4. Scroll to Add new entry, and then press SELECT. 5. Enter the number. • Use the dialing keys to enter the number (up to 30 digits). 6. Press SELECT to move to the name. 7. Use the dialing keys to enter the name (up to 15 characters). Additional key presses show other characters of that particular key. 8. Scroll to To Call block then press SELECT. 3. Use the dialing keys to modify the number, and then press SELECT. 4. Use the dialing keys to modify the name, and then press SELECT to save. Delete a call block list entry When the desired call block list entry displays, press DELETE.

In system programming, you can select whether the display is the name, number, or line.

Using the Caller ID and Redial Lists
Caller ID (CID) is a service available from your telephone provider that shows the phone number (and sometimes the caller's name) of incoming calls. Contact your telephone provider for more information.

When a call comes in, the phone displays the number and name (if available) of the caller.
The phone saves the information for the last 30 received calls to the

CID list.
When it's in standby, the handset shows how many calls came in since the last time you checked the CID list.


Each handset remembers the last 5 numbers you dialed on it. The redial list is separate for each handset.

You must have caller ID provided by your local phone company for Call ID to work. This is an additional charge on your phone bill.

The caller ID phone having the tip & ring detection circuit to detect the incoming phone number, but in this model doesn't have tip & ring detection circuit to display other phone number but after connecting the other fax it will read the information which was stored like company name & phone number of other one..

To set Caller ID you need to save the persons name and number within the PHONE MEMORY, once saved then go to 'My Photos' and select appropriate photo and select 'Options' then '5.Set As/Caller ID' then search for relative number on the PHONE MEMORY once found confirm it by pressing left soft key which will save picture to number.

No cell phone has true caller ID. While the number calling you shows up on screen, the only time a name will appear with it is if it's coming from someone that you've saved to your contacts list. (There may be a paid App for iPhone/Android that can search an online phone book to display caller ID, but I'm unaware of any that works reliably.)
