Since my ice maker keeps making ice. I just lined the inside of the ice maker with styrofoam cut to fit, wrapped in plastic bags. Now my ice maker is full to the brim with ice....and should keep working for a while longer!!!

The bin has most likely failed. Apparently the bin insulation on the DCE33 eventually gets saturated with water and loses it's insulation ability. Consequently the ice melts prematurely. Condensation starts to build up inside the bin because it's not cold enough adding to the problem as the water drips on the new ice inside the bin.

Mine is 5-yrs old and I was told that it's all the life I'll get out of it.

If everything else is workng properly, harvest time, cube size, cold water spray, then a new bin is the unfortunate solution.

SOURCE: Scotsman CM250AE Ice Machine tech help

Check the bridge size adjustment at the top of the metal grid that the ice forms on. This determines the size of the cubes. Whenever you make a repair on the water system, especially on an older unit. make sure the unit is clean. A little bit of calcium deposits (or that other nasty looking stuff) getting into the passage ways will make it run erratically, and can drive you nuts.

SOURCE: I have a new DCE33 scotsman ice machine. No spray small flow

Could be in need of cleaning with some nickleguard ice machine cleaner. Or maybe a restriction in the pump? How about a scotsman repair manual?

I have both. Hope this one is it

SOURCE: Making and dropping ice, but not retaining

yes to drain line. Clean the condensor and evaporator first. Check the spray jets to see it they are clogged. There is a screen on the inlet water valve as well. Check door seals and cabinet tight.

All else fails look for oil around the hot gas valve.

Ice maker is not making ice. what could be the problem?

The two most common things that happen: the ice piles up too high, which pushes up the bar that tells it the bin is full and stop making ice. OR the ice sticks to the ice cube maker. If the ice pile is too high, knock it down or empty the bin. If the ice is sticking to the cube maker, try melting it and then spraying it with a non stick spray. Sometimes the water supply line is clogged, but that is not usually the problem.

Hi have LG fridge, ice maker making ice but freezes into one solid block instead of staying in individual ice cubes making it impossible to dispense do you have any ideas a sto why this is happening and...

Sounds like this is a water level problem. Too much water is being released into ice tray, which raises the water level above the depth of each cube form, causing one big cube. You can adjust the water level.

Emerson ice maker not freezing ice, making small cubes and they are soft and mushy.. seems to not freeze ice solid and takes forever to drop ice

When was the last time you cleaned it by running ice machine cleaner through it. After a period of time algea, or slime will form on the chill plate where the ice is made. Sometimes its invisible to the eye, but it doesn't mean its not there. When this happens the machine will freezse the water, and when the ice tries to slide forward to the cutting grid, it catches on the chill plate. There are no sensors in the machine to tell it that this is happening and so the machine moves forward and starts running more water across the plate, which in turn runs across the ice caught on the chill plate melting it and using it as a ramp to fall into the bin melting the ice there as well. So, try cleaning it before taking any further steps, then if the problem persist feel free to get in touch.

It will make one or two ice cubes that quickly melt. The water keeps running.

Check the float that lets in the water. It sounds like the float is stuck and water is continuously running through, that will keep the ice from forming
