TRIED A DIFFERANT KEEPBOARD JUST THE SAME ITS A DELL DEMENSION 3000
Keyboard might be bad or you might have a virus that has hijacked the keyboard.
Make sure the keyboard is plugged into the computer good. Then reboot the computer into Safe Mode and see if the Keyboard works.
Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn itback on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFEMODE. Take the Safe Mode option and let it boot up. Safe Mode will lookdifferent to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this isnormal.
Most common things don't require drivers such as hard drives, cd/dvd drives. keyboards, etc. I looked on Dell Support and there is no drivers for a keyboard, they are standard universal equipment. Sorry, I meant for you to replace Acer Support with Dell Support when you go looking for drivers. I would definitely say your keyboard is bad or the Port where you plug the keyboard into the computer is bad. This is so simple to remedy. Just try another keyboard. And like your friend said, you can try a USB keyboard. Keyboards are a dime a dozen so it's not a big expense.
Try Free Virtual Keyboard, you can get it to type by pointing and clicking letters with the mouse.
Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "download.cnet.com" (without the quotes). Click the link to go to the site and look on the left side when the site opens up and you will see a gray area that says FIND SOFTWARE. In the white search box under Find Software type: "Virtual Keyboard" (without the quotes) and click the mirror to search. When the search results come back look for FREE VIRTUAL KEYBOARD. Download and Install it. It's totally FREE. Also uncheck anything that pops up other than the license agreement during the download and installation. You only want the Free Keyboard and not the other junk.
You can use it to solve your keyboard problem. Just open up whatever it is you want to type on such as the web address in an browser, a word document, etc., then open the Free Virtual Keyboard and it will sit on top of whatever you were doing. You can move it around so that it is not in your way also.

Hi Sir Another fix you could try is looking in your device manager and checking what keyboard device is registered if it says that you are using a ps2 then you need to uninstall the device and then close the device manger after which you should unplug your key board and restart your computer when you hear the bleep reconnect the keyboard into your USB port and see if this works if not you need to check if you have enough power to your keyboard from your USB port as some USB keyboards need power is your USB port 2.0 if not try to upgrade your USB to 2.0 from the usual 1.1 ports Hope this helps Paddy

Hi. Try to delete all items from the Prefetch and Temp folder located in:
C:/windows/Prefetch and C:/Windows/Temp respectively.
After deleting those files, try reseting your Internet eExplorer by clicking Tools, then Internet Options, Click the Advanced Tab and Press Reset near the bottom of the window.
Than try to check if thee's any improvements on the speed of your connection. Otherwise, you need to upgrade your RAM for more muscles or speed.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Acer Support" (without the quotes). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the drivers.
You may have to use another computer to get the drivers since the keyboard does not work or try putting another keyboard in and see what happens.
Did you try Safe Mode, did the keyboard work in Safe Mode?
If you can get into safe mode and the keyboard works, I would do a System Restore to a point (date and time) before the problem started. Click Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore
