Hello download the drivers, or the manual here:

Use windows update, for any service packs update missing.

Look also in the device manager, for drivers missing, especialy the chipset driver: VIA IDE Driver

Must install motherboard drivers right after you install XP ( chipset is always needed first ) If you use Nvidia drivers or a 4 in 1 make sure you do those first before anything else .

Hi there What driver did you use? It seems to be a driver issue. Try using the generic driver of Windows and start a restore point from there. then use your CD Driver provided from the Card's Manufacturer. ============================== Hope this helps. Let me know OK?
