I would contact Sony customer service on the phone with the model number to see if this is a known issue or they have an answer--takes time but may be the best way.

SOURCE: Sony Bravia KDL52XBR5 picture blanks out using HDMI port

I think this has to do with the cable box not liking the encryption thing going on with the sony tv. The cable boxes probably don't understand it fully and therefore you have intermittant problems. I would just use component inputs. Which are analog and no encryption problems. I hope this was helpful. I bet it doesn't happen using a sony DVD Player or a blue ray DVD Player either. Sony, Sony, Sony.....Good stuff...but they have their moments. Let me know if u come up with a fix for this and then i will post it on my fix it list.. Thank you again..GURU JAY

SOURCE: no signal sony bravia to dell laptop

Most laptops have a combination of buttons you have to press on the keyboard to get it to output on the monitor output. Try pressing the FUNCTION KEY or FUNC/FN key usually found in the bottom left hand side of the keyboard. Keep that button held down while press one of the number keys. Usually the number key will have a picture of a TV screen on it. Might be number 8 or 9. Press both keys at the same time a you can switch between laptop screen, Sony LCD or you can have both..

SOURCE: vertical lines on sony kdl-46v3000 bravia lcd tv

i have the same problem, apparently the LCD panel needs to be replaced and this will cost more than the tv is worth... Advice is to not buy a sony again, because this is a common problem and they wont extend the warranty, even if its 2 weeks after it runs out...

SOURCE: hdmi port stopped working on sony bravia

I have a Sony Bravia model KDL-46s5100 that had the same problem. All HDMI ports stopped working. I don't know why this works but unplug the TV for about 30 sec, then plug it back in and hold down the power button on the tv for 10 seconds. Like I said I don't know why this works but it worked for me. Good luck.

How to connect a Samsung R700 PC to Sony LCD TV KDL-46S2010

hi my name is Rui i would like to help you with your problem...

its just easy to connect a PC to a sony lcd tv...^_^ here are 5 ways to do it...

1. S-Video - This is probably the most common method out there currently because an S-Video Cable is cheap as heck and just about every TV under the sun has a S-Video port. You'll have to make sure you laptop is equipped with this port. Remember, there are two types of S-Video cables: 4-pin and 7-pin. Most laptops and PC's are equipped with a 7-pin port, so if your TV only has a 4-pin S-Video port, then this method will not work.

2. VGA - If you have a HDTV, then you will be better off connecting using a VGA Cable. It gives much better quality than S-Video and as with S-Video, the cable is very cheap. You usually won't find a VGA port on regular TV's though, so this option is if you have an HDTV.

3. DVI - DVI stands for Digital Visual Interface with "digital" being the key word there. The digital signal will give a higher quality picture than either S-Video or VGA. Of course, your computer will need to have a DVI connection and your TV will need to be an HDTV. This cord is definitely not cheap, it ranges anywhere from $40 to $80.

4. HDMI - Using HDMI will give you the best quality by far. No computers that I know of yet have HDMI ports, but you can get a DVI to HDMI cable to connect it to your HDTV. HDMI is compatible with DVI.

5. Scan Coverter Box - This is the last method that I could think of and it involves using a scan converter box, which takes a VGA signal and converts it into S-Video or component video.

just try hooking up 1 of this tips i give you.well if you ask me i prefer HDMI & VGA. ^_^
but it will still depend on your preference..

hope this will help you... Good luck... ^_^

Hi Jatinder Kumar ,
Yes you can connect your computer output to lcd tv through dvi-hdmi cable or vga-hdmi cable.
1. Connect to HDMI (DVI) : just plug in HDMI (DVI) out of PC or laptop to HDMI or DVI TV. Than select source from HDMI.
2. Connect to PC : Plug D sub to TV, select PC in.

I hope that will help you.
thanks.

What kind of cable if any can i use to make my wd52526 proj tv my pc comp monitor

Your projection TV has HDMI input so you would need to either run an HDMI-HDMI cable from an HDMI output on your computer or, more likely, a DVI-HDMI cable from the DVI output on teh computer to the HDMI input on the TV. If ycou can'T find a DVI-HDMI cable note that you can also buy DVI/HDMI adapters for one end of an HDMI-HDMI cable.

Note that DVI is HDMI minus the sound so if you do run DMI to HDMI you'll also need to route the sound to your TV or other amplifier.

If you only have a VGA output on your computer then you will not be able to easily run this to your TV as VGA is an anologue signal while DVI and HDMI are digital. To do this you'd need a converter.

Hope this helps. If so then please rate my advice.

Thanks

Hooking up pc through hdmi - red flickering image

The format from the PC needs to be an HDTV format: 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i or 1080p. Other formats will generally not work. You may need to get the latest drivers from your video card manufactures website to correct the problem. I hope this was helpful, best wishes.

How do you hook up the tv thru dvi out with a sony pcv-rs620g

There are several ways to do this. The two best are:

1. Get a DVI to HDMI cable. This will allow you to plug directly from your computers DVI to your TV's HDMI.

2. If your computer has an analog (rgb (vga) 15 pin) input, you can simply get a dvi to vga adapter and plug into that port.

Currently, I am using option 2 for my own use.

In the photo below, I point out the HDMI, RGB (VGA), and audio inputs. You must use the audio input but you have a choice of using the HDMI or RGB for video input from your PC. If you have the extra HDMI slots, I would use that. If not, the RGB is fine.

No sound when my computer is connected to my Sony Bravia TV

If your computer has a svga output use input 7 on tv with vga to vga cable and 3.5-3.5 Radioshack 42-2387 cable for audio for best results. If you use the dvi to hdmi on input 6 on tv use 3.5- rca Radioshack part number 42-2551 1/8=3.5mm.
