Mine keeps saying rebooting then held the source button and stop button and it's came up with - firmware is damaged and recovering but isn't doing anything .. can anyone help please
If your using a DVD to install the operating system, it could be either dirty (just needs a wipe) or the files on the disk are corrupt.
If you are getting this error while Windows 7 is starting up perhaps you can try doing a "repair". Boot off the DVD do a repair (not from the recovery console) and see if this helps.
1.Try to boot your computer in Safe mode and run a full system virus scan with your anti-virus software, this may fix the problem. The system will boot in safe mode only if its not a major damage to the file. If the system is not booting in safe mode, then perform system restore. Click start>all programs>Accessories>System tools>System Restore. Restore computer to a date where it was working fine. 2.In case the system refuses to boot up at all, then it is recommended to run a repair setup of windows Xp. To run repair setup, boot the computer with Windows Xp bootable CD and on installation screen, press R for repair setup. For detailed steps see http://www.windowsreinstall.com/winxppro/installxpcdrepair/indexfullpage.htm
boot your system in safe mode by pressing f8 during the booting process, if it boots then restore your system to back date whete its working fine, if it does'nt boot, there might be the visus problem, or os corruption, reload the os
try to power up with power cord only and see if it works. If no lights turn on than your motherboard is dead. If it turns on and nothing happens make sure there is memory installed(RAM). If it turns on and you see windows screen than it shuts off than your operating system needs to be installed again. Also, you can try booting in safe mode by hitting f8 when you initially start your computer and see if it stays on and if it does you have a virus most likely. Good luck.
