Frigidaire Range FEF357BBD error code F9

I pushed the clean oven button and noticed the door wasn't locked. The door open light started blinking and it started beeping. Now I can't get any of the buttons to work.

I had the situation where the oven thinks the door is locked but it was not locked. Setting and holding clear eventually gave a f9 error.
I solved this by turning the circuit breaker off and taping over the oven light switch ( so it thinks it really is locked ) and turning on the breaker. The oven unlocked and appears fine now.

Hi,

The "F9" error code means the EOC (electronic oven control) has found the lock motor switches to be out of sequence or shorted.

Test switches and if there is nothing wrong then replace the EOC.

Regards
R.K.

Oven Lock stuck open before start of self-cleaning cycle I get a code F9, a flashing lock light, a continous beep and a dr code on the panel when I try to set self-cleaning cycle again.

Thank you for your inquiry, Lucie!

From what you have described your Frigidaire oven lock is stuck open and you are receiving error codes "F9" and "DR". The "F9" error code stands for runaway temperature (overheating). This could be an issue with your RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) or the EOC (Electronic Oven Control). I would recommend performing a reset on your oven and you can do that by disconnecting from your oven for ten minutes. The "DR" code means that the door is not closed or the door latch is not recognizing the door is closed. This could be an issue with your door latch or control panel. If the reset does not help correct your issues I would recommend having a professional technician out to perform a proper diagnosis and repair. Best of luck! -Matt

Code f9 on frigidaire self cleaning oven. what does it mean. i went to clean the oven and the door locked and the code f9 came up and keeps beeping. i unplugged the stove for 1/2 hour and plugged it...

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. F9 error in your oven/range indicates an issue with the door locks assembly and/or the door latch. To start with check the door lock circuit, you can also try to jump start it to see if it's working. If it's not working then the Electronic Range control has gone bad and should be replaced, if it is working then the door lock circuit should be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

I'm getting an F9 error, how do i reset it. I was trying to clean the oven and i mistakenly opened the door. It started beeping and gave me an F9 error

The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

How do I clear error beeping (F9) on my Amana gas range

try to hold in on the oven light switch plunger that the door would hit if it was closed properly. what you probably did was to pull the door open while it was trying to lock. once you hold the plunger in, then hit the clean cycle again and then push to cancel button to get the door latch to unlock the door. it may take a minute or two but that should clear up the error code and let you use the oven again.
next time if you push the clean by mistake, just let it go and then when it says "locked" just push the cancel button. it will unlock and be ready to use.
