I have a Kingston DataTraveller100 a.k.a DT100 having a capacity of 2GB.
I used it for a while. Later I connected it with my PC on WinXP it is saying
a USB DISK 30X USB Device...it should had said Kingston Data Traveller 2.0. Now, Detects the drive shows as Removable Disk instead of KINGSTON and displays "Insert a disk into drive".
Please respond. Thank You.
Note: I tried to format it in FAT/FAT32 and even used HP storage Format Utility. Non-Repond.

withdrew because I wanted to formatarlo by the Ubuntu, after we

unit.
On Linux:
# sudo fdisk-l
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/ dev/sda1 1 1045 8,393,931 27 Unknown
/ dev/sda2 * 1046 19458 147895917 + 7 HPFS or NTFS
that sda1 and another partition qeu have a backup.
# lsusb
Bus 007 Device 003: ID 13fe: 1d00 Kingston Technology Company Inc.
DataTraveler 2.0 1GB/4GB Flash Drive / Patriot xport 4GB Flash Drive

I have 4gb kingston pendrive also..and i set my pendrive drive name to 'myname'.i already used my pendrive 2.4gb.and got a lots important files..when i plug in the pendrive,it will automatic install driver 'kingston datatraveler 2.0 usb device'.my problem is,when i plug out the pendrive and plug in back,it install driver 'usb disk 30x usb device' and my pendrive name change from 'myname' to 'removable disk'.and when i rightclick to properties,my pendrive change to,used space 0bytes,free space 0bytes,file system unknown.i try to scandisk my pendrive,and it cant do it,when i click ok at scandisk,it suddenly close..i try also to check with avg antivirus,it shows 'cannot open;not checked'.
Can you please help my problem? other than format the drive.please.... really need your help.... I really need the files inside my pendrive.
