SimpleTech 320GB external hard drive power adapter

Ok... I accidentally tossed my ac adapter into a batch of other ac adapters. I checked all the plugs and I found 4 of them are able to connect to the external hard drive. Can someone can tell me how much volts does it required to power up? Because I am afraid to bust my external hard drive.... got some inportant stuff in it.

I have the same drive and it uses an Accurian AC/DC Adapter. It's output is 6.3V. Also the model number is XKD-C1500NHS66.3-12. I hope this helps.

You can use any 12V, 2A tip positive adapter. You can find one at Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc.

What kind of ac adaptor does the drive need

The following link shown are for a hard drive with a 3.5" IDE connection and a PPA International USB to IDE adapter kit. If you have a different type of drive or a different adapter, please refer to the manufacturer's directions for how to properly power and connect your devices.

I have a simpletech 320 gb pininforte external hard drive, and I lost the ac/dc adapter. I wasn't sure what it looked like as it wasn't shown anywhere on the box so I tried some I have around and I think...

It needs a 12V 1.5A adapter. But if the light was on for a short while, and it doesn't do anything anymore with the same adapter.. Doesn't sound very good.. I wish you all the luck with the external HDD!

Simpletech 320GB BOM No.: 96300-41001-012 is new has never worked

The original power supply is "SB2D-020-1HA SIMPLETECH AC ADAPTER 12V 1.5A FOR EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE" . Just find a replacement with the correct size plug (center positive) that supplies 12v DC at 1.5amps (1500ma)
