Change your security level to a lower setting. Log on and click on tools on your upper toolbar then click on internet options. At this point you can change a couple setting that will help. Click on content and you should see certificate setting, adjust this until you can view the site you want, then go to security and set it to around medium. As long as you have a good firewall and anti - virus program you should have no worries. Good luck, this should help you out.

How to connect to the internet

Accessing the internet on your mobile phone has never been cheaper or easier. If you're looking for a new mobile, you'll find that almost all the latest handsets can connect quickly to the internet. Connecting to the internet on your mobile is actually very straightforward, however if you're not sure how to make the most of this great phone feature, we've put together this handy guide to help you. Get set up To access the internet on your mobile phone you need: a mobile phone that supports internet access a mobile phone service that supports data transmission, such as 3G and Wi-Fi an account with data settings for accessing an internet server on your phone. Many phones come preloaded with data account settings. If yours does not, you should speak to your service provider. Using the internet Many phones come with one-touch internet access; simply hit the web-browser button on your phone and you will connect straight away. This will either be on the main menu screen, or within the Applications menu. Your internet home page will usually be a web page saved into the phone, most likely a home page for your mobile provider. This will be the page from which you can access all online services from your phone. Of course, you can change this easily from the browser's settings menu. Usually when you access the internet from your mobile, you will see this page offline and can choose from a list of online services such as: Search internet Accessories Download games Download ringtones You could select any web page to be your home page when you connect, and from here you can access any other internet page as you normally would. You can also bookmark your favourite web pages in your phone's browser. Bookmarks mean that you can organise the addresses of your favourite and frequently visit web pages in a handy and easy to manage way. When connected to the internet on your phone, you can navigate as you would from a PC or a laptop using your mobile's keypad, trackpad, or touchscreen. Downloading content Downloading music, ringtones, photos, or videos on your mobile phone works in much the same way as it would from your PC or laptop. Most mobile phones have dedicated music or media download software which enables you to quickly and easily transfer files between your mobile and your PC or laptop, for example iTunes for Apple iPhones. This software also allows you to transfer music from your computer and CD's onto your phone. Internet security Your internet-ready mobile phone should support secure browsing. It's worth remembering that using certain internet services on your mobile, like banking for example, could require your phone to have security certificates. Your phone may have all the necessary security certificates when you buy it, however, if it does not, you should contact your service provider. If your phone does require security certificates to allow you to connect to the internet and use certain services, you can often download the certificates straight to your phone, or transfer them from your computer to your mobile just as you would with any other file.

Certificate error on web site.

This is basically an Internet Explorer 7 Website’s Security Certificate problem! You have to self-sign the certificate on the client computer or add the URL manually to the trusted security zone. When you are trying to access a secure web page, you receive the warning message:

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority."

Or

"Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept data you send to the server."

To fix this issue, you can follow either of the methods:

Method 1:

You have to install the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 (Windows SBS) self-signed certificate on the client computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In Windows Internet Explorer 7, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
A red Address Bar and a certificate warning appear.
  • Click Certificate Error button to open the information window.
  • Click View Certificates > click Install Certificate.
  • Click Yes, to install the certificate, when warning message appear.

Note: For Windows Vista users, right click on Internet Explorer icon. Select Run as Administrator.

Method 2:

Add the URL to the Trusted Sites security zone:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Go to Menu bar > Tools > Internet Options.

    tool.jpg
  • Click Security > Trusted sites > Sites

    sec.jpg
  • Type the URL in the Add this website to the zone text box > uncheck Require server verification >Add > click OK

    trust.jpg
  • Click OK to exit.

Now you have added the URL successfully into the Trusted Sites security zone.

Internet Explorer cannot display web page

a couple things I've seen
- first the address as posted is invalid (can't find) but if you insert a dot (.) between parents and brickshools then it finds it (http://parents.brickshools.org/)

- if the corrected address is correct it looks like the site is redirected to a secure connection (https vs. http) and then the problem is that the site owner's security certificate has several problems as follows:

The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority. The security certificate presented by this website has expired or is not yet valid. The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address. these issues were presented to me by Internet Explorer v7.0 - the main address functions (http://brickschools.org/) so it definitely seems to be a security certificate issue on their end. I would speak with the site owner. btw, I'm coincidentally in Toms River :)

Certificate error I cannot get into any email accounts

Hi,
Please perform the following steps.
This error message appears because the security certificate was issued by the University itself and not by an authority acknowledged by Microsoft.
To solve this problem, for most webpages you just have to install the "CA Certificate" of Ghent University in your browser.
For certain websites, such as https://zephyr.ugent.be, you need to import its own certificate:
Click on "Certificate Error" next to the IE7 address bar and then "View certificates"
Click on "Install certificate..."
Click "Next"
You will be asked where the certificate has to be stored. You can use the default setting and click "Next".
Click "Finish"
Confirm by clicking "Yes"
On your next visit, you will not see the error message again. Hopefully it should work.. Thank you
