Picture and sound come on then after about 30 sec turns off- no blinking lights
It says it is a Mitsubishi WS-65809--can you confirm that?
if it shuts off and green power light goes off:
On front of set press and hold both the menu and input buttons at same time and hold for at least 5 seconds and release both.
Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times. If in the course of this you have unplugged the set it will clear the error buffer and you will get 1,2 which is no error found.
Plug set back and repeat the self check---let me know what code you find---some of these models also have a issue when set plugged in green light blinks for 70 seconds and goes out--normal and is set booting up.

You will need to reset the Netcommand and tuner settings in the set. The little indented button in the front of the set needs to be pushed in (when the set is off). The front light will blink for about a minute or minute and a half. Then, reprogram the Netcommand settings. This should solve your problem. If you need more information, then, reply to this post and I will respond.

there are 2 3300mf 16v caps on the main power board that are the cause of these problems.
SOURCE: tv wont turn on get audio then tv shuts off timer lite blinking
If TV stays in stand by with audio but no video, then common faults are the ballast board, or a fault on digital board.
If the led stays blinking , and tv turns off then the TV is on protect mode.
Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.
Also
ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending
bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box
or dvd connected.
If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing
led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while,
that indicates a fault condition.
The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.
1The
internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic
charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read
by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the
protection circuit.
2 The protection circuit detected a wrong
voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in
, startingthe flashing light.
If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.
If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.
Common faults
that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a
convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.
Check also
the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you
can get same flashing state because of the video cable.
If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual
If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.
SOURCE: Just replaced the bulb in my wd-62528 dlp tv,
Hi, I'm not a service expert. I too own a WD-62528 DLP TV with exactly the same problem. Manufacture date Nov. 2005.
I have found in another forum (CNET) that this is a very well known problem. And that Mitsubishi (MDEA) is not taking responsibility for it. A group of people tried to make a Class Lawsuit but it was rejected. Also other people found that this TV actually does not display 1080i resolution, that is a separate problem from the lamp issue.
If you are able to solve this problem with the TV (blinking lights requesting a new lamp all the time and TV turning off by itself), please let me know. If you want a link to the other forum, let me know and I will send the link.
Also, please don't be discouraged from trying to find a solution. Keep trying.

Turns off after just few seconds now- could it be due to DVD box hooked up incorrectly?
