Takes picture ok but no details on rear screen of anything menu etc.nor pics

the image in the LCD monitor will darken in strong sunlight or bright light. This is normal occurrrence in device CCDs and does not contitute a malfunction. This image will not be recoded when shooting still photos, but it will be recorded wihen shooting movies.Read you owner manual and adjust the MENU, according with your o. manual.Otherwise you must go the repair shop

ok fo this go to menu ..then shootinh menu.turn off continuous and then u will be able to view pics after taking it

I removed my CF card from the picture frame and plugged it into my computer to see if it might be corrupted. It worked ok so I put it back in the Pic. frame and it worked ok their too ????

Your camera seems to have ccd chip problem. Image chips goes bad sometimes and when you play recorded image it is ok but when you want to turn on the camera to take picutures, you'll see scrambled image or no image at all. The remedy for this symptom requires a replacement of ccd chip. The average repair for ccd problem is $100-$130 in the repair market. -James

I have a sony cybershot DSC-S650, the LCD was very dark and could not see anything except if I pointed it at a bright object, everything else worked ok. I could take pictures but could barely see them in playback as well.

I took it to Sony authorised repair outlet and was told the CCD was damaged, they charged me USD $55 to repair it (in Quito, Ecuador)

This is a problem with the Camera CCD unit, u r requested to carry the Camera to the Canon Care Centre and your job will be done free of cost.

CCD malfunction, common with Sony manufactured CCD chips. You are in luck, its a free repair regardless of warranty date.
