Comp2 better picture quality than frnt but comp2 has no sound

When i am playing my xbox 360, i noticed that the picture quality of the Comp 2 setting is better than the FRNT setting. The FRNT setting has sound but the Comp 2 has no sound. well I can't get that model and i don't to buy it , but i can tell you it is not wise to use the comp video for video games , this ends up ruining the tv as does the hdmi input for video games and when playing video games thru the tv then the 720 setting for the video game and some other devices is better in that it doesn't require the extra processing , the settings will be in your menu screen setup

but you have a problem going on in there as well , the audio working in one and not the other!

this may need to be tested to find that problem of no audio in the one input , but sometimes other inputs can mess up other inputs( thus multiple inputs can be harmful to the tv

try using the s-video hook up , and with the audio inputs , that should work better , or just use the rca inputs ( yellow video and red and white for audio)

you did not really think I helped you? sorry but this is true with these tv's and even smaller crt tv's

well I thought I answered your question but if you need more info I can help but we are not or should we ask or put our emal on here because its public , but here is more info on video input that should tell you alot of how the video works http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Component_v...

but if there is something wrong with the audio then it needs testing and repair

How do I connect a Xbox 360 Console without HDMI to a Grundig LED-tv 40" to get the best picture?

If your tv has a composite wiring inputs (5 wire red, white, yellow, blue, green) use them it will provide a better picture picture quality than the standard rca a/v cable (red, white, yellow) After you connect the composite cable from console to tv go into system/console settings/tv picture quality and adjust settings there

Part 2: Different ways to play videos on Xbox 360

codecs100401.jpg

With regard to playback videos from a USB storage device, please note that the Xbox 360 will support as big of a storage device as you can format using FAT32, and the maximum size of any single file on FAT32 is 4GB. Besides that, the maximum file size for an AVI, MPEG-4 Part 2, and H.264 file that can be played is 4 GB as well. To play a file greater than 4GB on Xbox 360, you can use Windows Media Player 11 and the Zune software to stream videos from your PC to Xbox 360 console, and notice that the file format must be WMV only. Why is it so special with a WMV file? That maybe WMV is a codec developed by Microsoft.

Well, that is to say, to some extent, we can consider WMV as the optimal format to play or stream to Xbox 360. When you are gonna watch a Blu-ray/DVD movie, or an MKV video, or some files else that are out of the range of Xbox 360 workable formats, what is your solution? We usually make use of Pavtube Blu-ray Video Converter Ultimate to do format conversion. Why do we choose it? Mainly because of its splendid output quality and its feature of an all-in-one application: a Blu-ray ripper, a DVD ripper, and a versatile video converter.

Part 3: How to convert Blu-ray/DVD and videos to WMV for play/stream on/to Xbox 360

We have mentioned in the above contents that the program we will use is Pavtube Blu-ray Video Converter Ultimate. Go to find a step-by-step instruction from the following part.

total100402.jpg

STEP 1: Load Blu-ray, DVD or other video files into this program

Click "Add Video" to import video files, and click "Load DVD" to import Blu-ray or DVD files.

STEP 2: Select subtitle and audio track

Click on the pull down menu after "Subtitle" and "Audio" respectively to select your needed subtitle and audio track as your choice. Your selection can be reviewed in the preview window to the right hand of the main interface.

STEP 3: Select WMV as output format for Xbox 360

Click on the drop-down list at the opposite side of "Format", and then choose "WMV3 (WMV9) (*.wmv)" as output format.

wmv100402.jpg

STEP 4: Do optimal settings for the output WMV files

Click on "Settings" button, and afterwards you can adjust audio and video parameters including video/audio codec, resolution, video/audio bit rate, frame rate, sample rate and audio channel on the popup window. To make it excellent for playback on Xbox 360, you can follow the optimal settings as below:

Video codec: wmv3 (the default one)
Resolution: 1920*1080
Bitrate: 150 kbps
Frame rate: 30 fps

Audio codec: wmav3 (the default one)
Sample rate: 48 khz
Bitrate: 320 kbps
Channels: 5.1 Channels

Do remember clicking "OK" button to confirm your settings.

STEP 5: Click "Convert" button to start BD/DVD ripping or video conversion

Once finished, click "Open" button at the bottom to get the output WMV files for Xbox 360, which now is prepared for playback or streaming.

Part 4: How to stream videos to Xbox 360

Well, as we have mentioned in Part 2, there are at least four ways to stream videos to Xbox 360, from Windows Media Center, Windows Home Server, Windows Media Player 11, and Zune Software. Actually, lots of online articles have detailed the setups and operating steps, just check the following links to find the one which is most suitable for you:

How to stream videos to Xbox 360 via Windows Media Center

Keep video files with 5.1 surround sound for Xbox 360

Have you purchased a 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker system for the Xbox 360 to enjoy your games and movies in the center of action? Currently I have considered doing it. I have loads of HD videos, which are with the extensions of .mkv, .m2ts and whatever. Most of them have embedded 5.1 channels, but the thing is that because of format issues, my console is unable to directly play these files, so I have to do format conversion before watching them. In regard to conversion, my only requirement is keeping 5.1 channels of the source file, fortunately, with Pavtube Video Converter, I did it! Very excited! Share it here.

What you will need is only Pavtube Video Converter. You can free download it here. The detailed steps are as below:

1. Click "Add" button to load video files into this program

2. Click the pull down menu of "Format" to select output format for Xbox 360
Follow "Zune/Xbox 360 Device" – "Xbox 360 HD Video (*. Wmv)". By the way, if you wanna combine multiple files into a single file so that there are no intervals while playing, you can tick the checkbox "Merge into one file" to achieve it.

3. Click "Settings" button to do advanced settings and select 5.1 channels
All the items including codec, bit rate, frame rate, aspect ratio, sample rate and audio channels are changeable. Do remember adjust the audio as 5.1 channels. Following are my settings, which result a good playback quality on my Xbox 360 console.

4. Click "Convert" button to start conversion
Once finished, you can get the output files for your console via clicking "Open" button effortlessly.

More features of this Xbox 360 Converter I have found:
1. The converting speed of this software is 1-2 times faster than the similar converters. Batch conversion can be done in a few minutes.
2. It does not have the audio and video out of sync issues.
3. With exception of adding text as watermark, images, GIF animations, and videos can also be added as watermarks to realize the picture-in-picture effect.
4. You can use the "Trim" function to select certain video clips to convert. And you can also take advantage of the "Crop" function to remove black edges or change the screen size.
5. Special effect models are provided, such as "Simple gauss blur", "Simple laplacian sharpen", "Aged film", "Flip color", and "Invert".

I was playing cod 5 on my xbox picture quality rapidly deteriorated so i turned it off when i turned it back on i had no picture and no sound through hdmi lead so i tryed standard lead i had sound but no...

Could be something as simple as the wrong settings on the TV/360. Also it could be an internal issue, generally associated with the (H) ANA chip (the chip responsible for E74) as it handles the video output. If it's not the settings, and if the console is under warranty send it in to MS. If not, find a reputable person to help you out.
In any case you will more than likely have an E74 console very, very soon.

Xbox 360 plays for a few minutes and then the screen goes black with no sound or picture.

your graphics processor IC chip needs its solder joints reflowing, and the heatsink re securing.

This will solve the problem.

Two laptop connected to wireless router. comp1 can access files from comp2 but comp2 cant access files from comp1. both comps show network map and can get ip yet comp2 keeps timing out when attempting...

Considering that you are using both comp with dynamic IP and from same wireless roughter and OS is same from both laptop.
As you are able to ping from comp1 to comp2 and not able to ping from comp2 to comp1 .. check the firewall setting of comp1 or disable the firewall from comp1.

E74 system failure... AV cables?

Here are some steps that you can use to try to resolve the issue. 1. Turn off the console, disconnect all the cables, and then reconnect all the cables. Turn the console back on. 2. Turn off the console, and then disconnect any accessories that are connected. For example, disconnect any Xbox 360 controllers, Xbox 360 Memory Units, and the Xbox 360 Hard Drive. With the accessories disconnected, restart the console to see whether the problem still occurs. This can help you determine whether the console or an accessory is experiencing the problem.
If this doesn't work, call MS and explain all this to them. If they do not offer to fix it for free then you can try repairing it yourself or selling it and getting a new one. If you opt to repair it yourself, let me know and I will give you some advice and resources. Good luck!!
