As I was told,If you put red kerosene in those heaters it will mess up the wick.they need the white(undyed)kerosene.I have to change the wick and somehow find a new control knob.

Need to see pictorial instruction on how to replace wick in a Dyna Glo RMC-95-C2 kerosene heater

I think the Dyna-glow RMC95 series of heaters are equivalent to DH2300 series heaters.
In any event, the wick you purchased should have ahd the installation instructions included with the wick.

If it didn't or you tossed it, Here's a link to the DH-2300 series heater's Owners Manual, which may help you.

Good luck. Be sure to wear rubber gloves when you try to install the wick. Particularly, if you still have kerosene in the tank.

I just replaced the wick, cleaned up the heater and filled with new K-1 kero. The heater (Dyna-Glo RMC-95-C7) is emitting black smoke worst than ever. The wick is burning a little unevenly.

Either the wick was improperly installed or you may not have allowed enough time for the wick to soak in the kerosene and become evenly distributed. Check the placement of the new wick and allow time (several hours) for the wick to absorb the kerosene.

Dyna glo RMC 95 C6 kerosene heater, BRAND NEW. Wick and flame seem very low. At Max the wick height is 3/8(suggested height by manufacturer), flame is quite low, and not very hot at all

1. Check to make sure you using fresh clean kerosene fuel. 2. Make sure you fill the heater and let it set for at least an hour, 2 hours is better. 3. If either of those solutions don't fix the problem, return to the store.
I have the same heater and just changed the wick. When working correctly, it should be so hot that it's uncomfortable to hold your hand 2 feet over it.

Burning correctly

since the unit is new I would contact customer support at the we site or by calling phone number in owners manual.

Dyno-Glo RMC-95-C7 kerosene heater. replaced wick

once the tank gets low(on E) put the heater outside and let the remaining fuel burn completely out. This will burn off the residue build up on the wick and make it easier to turn off manually. do this often. i also use an old toothbrush to "fluff up" the wick. if the residue is too hard for the toothbrush bristles, flip the toothbrush over and break up the residue with the back side of the toothbrush. once all (or nearly all) of the residue has burned off you may see some smoke when you ignite the wick again. also, it may smell for a bit. I always light and shut off the heater outdoors. I mounted a dolly (table withe 4 wheels) under the heater to make transporting it easier. hope this helps!

Wick not burning properly and smells

You need to use pure kerosene do not use died or color kerosene it depletes the wick faster and causes a distinct odor. Pure kerosene should be clear.
