They run on different speeds for heat and cool you either lost a speed for cool or the relay for the cool mode is not closing, Does the compressor come on in cool mode?
Most window air conditioners run the fan all the time but cycle on and off the compressor that makes it blow cold air, I knew a AC that was a small Hunter Bay brand (which I think is LG) that shut fan off also when it reached the right temperature.
Hard to test them in winter, you may not have it warm enough in the room for it to start making cold air, generally speaking that could be the problem.
I think, your compressor gets over heated due to condenser block-clean it. Less rpm fan speed. -Replace capacitor. 3.Check compressor running capacitor. If weak replace it. Helpful?
Does it have a position for fan only? If it does try that and see if the fan will run. If it doesn't something is keeping power from getting to the fan and compressor. Try looking inside for a fuse or possibly a capacitor. There may be a small transformer inside the unit. Check it for 24vac. If the fan runs then the transformer should be ok.
please check the temperature sensor this will make the compressor for running and stopping and also check the compressor if its in warranty period please call the service technician to check these and replace if necessary.
If the capacitor is bad replacing it is just a mater of moving the wires from the old one to the new one and mount the new capacitor securely in place. In replacing a capacitor it is recommended to replace it with the same rating as the one removed.
If the capacitor is bad it will not prevent the compressor from getting power. Is the compressor trying to start at all. If the compressor is running and you have no cooling the system could have lost the charge of refrigerant.
