On second ac adapter-universal. Faulty connection. Have to play with pin in port to maintain connection
Sounds like your Internal DC Power Jack is broken. It has to be repaired or eventually it will completely break and you won't be able to boot after the battery drains. It calls for taking your laptop apart since it is on the motherboard or sits in a slot on the motherboard. Most times it is soldered on the motherboard. You have to unsolder the old and solder a new on it it's place.

The Options tab in Bluetooth Devices provides options that control how devices discover and connect to your computer. The main option is Turn discovery on. This option lets devices discover your computer so that you can make a connection.
Other options on this tab include the following:
· Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer
This check box controls whether any devices can connect to your computer. If this check box is cleared, no devices can connect to your computer.
· Alert me when a new Bluetooth device wants to connect
This option controls whether you receive notification when a device tries to connect to your computer. If this check box is cleared, you do not receive notification.
Other options on the Options tab let you turn on or turn off the Bluetooth icon in the notification area and restore default settings.

if needed you can reboot the computer tapping f8 when it comes up asking to start in safe mode click safe mode with networking and see how it acts and if needed goto start control panel programs and features and in the left column select installed updates and go down to the microsoft section find the service pack that was installed and delete it.
then afterwards restart the notebook and see how it responds back in regular windows after removing the service pack.

First, make sure your wireless is turned on....The HP will have a switch to toggle the wireless on and off (it may be on the touch panel above the keyboard) Check your user manual to verify how to turn the wireless card on and off.
Then you may be able to use the HP wireless assistant to connect to it. If you don't like the HP Wireless assistant, you can switch it to use the Windows built in wireless utility, by disabling the HP Wireless assistant.
Take a look at this link: http://www.groovypost.com/howto/how-to/disable-the-hp-wireless-assistant-bloatware-microsoft-xp/ for some instructions on getting rid of the HP wireless assistant.
Good Luck
