Audio driver dell latitude C640 not working on my laptop

go to the dell support web-site and you can download the audio driver

Please go on the dell website which is www.dell.com put your service tag under the tag option the serive tag your system drivers while be dispalyed .. the video drivers are at the end of the list so choose the drivers & click on download now.. & follow the steps to download.

Also download the chipset drivers for the same list .. that will help for the better computer work.

Let me know if this doesn't resloves your issue. We will work further on it.

If you go to control panel/system/hardware/device manager. You can roll back to your previous driver. Unless of course it wasn't working then either. In that case disregard this solution : )

Recently I discovered that my laptop latitude C640 Sound and VGA is malfunctioning. I intended downloading the drivers trial version but could not do so. pls help I'm a student and I don't have money to buy a new one

Windows Vista is not supported on Dell Latitude C540/C640. There are no drivers for the hardware of this model. Many older computers have that problem. You can try Microsoft to see if they even exist: http://www.microsoft.com/uk/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/upgradeadvisor.mspx
You might have to fall back to XP.

check sound card

i installed windows xp service pack 3 in dell c640 latitude laptop after which the multimedia audio controller driver is not installed.

Try installing Microsoft UAA Drivers, you can find em in google.
