A few weeks ago the in door ice maker light started flashing and it sounded like a relay was clicking on and off. This would go on for 20-30 minutes then stop and all would be well. We also noticed that the ice dispensing flap was open allowing cold air to escape. We eventually figured out the if you engaged the child lock it would stop. Now the flashing and clunking has stopped but the flap that allows ice to fall into your cup no longer opens when you push the dispens lever. Other wise everything works. You can reach up and open the flap with your fingers and the ice that has been brought forward by the auger will fall into your hans. Basically the flap doesn't work. Help!

Are there any trouble shooting or service manuals available?
Thanks

1) Check the filler tube which allows water to enter the dispenser through the back wall of the freezer. This tube may be frozen inside. You can pull the tube out gently and clear it. 2) The inlet valve may be faulty/blocked. Where the water connects to the water valves behind the fridge, try to swap the plugs around from the one valve to the other. They should be colour coded. Then try dispensing water. If water runs into the ice-maker then the ice maker valve is faulty/blocked.

take out ice bin, make sure you get it lined up when put back together, should click, sometimes they are a little off and you have to keep trying, mine has that defect, it works, but only on its terms, its a pain to do, but that can stop it from working due to a safety thing

check the head of the icemaker and see if the gear is broken on the module

One is the icemaker will leak on the auger motor and freeze it up as you
describe. If this is the problem the ice will be very solid (hard ice). If this
is the case check to see if the tube that feeds the icemaker water is clogged
with ice and if so remove the ice and replace the water valve. If not the
icemaker may be overflowing, which is still most likely due to a bad water
valve.
The other thing that will cause this is an air leak. If it is an
air leak the ice will be frosty more like snow than hard ice. But even so it
will still cause the auger not to work. If this is the case check the little
flap that opens and closes to let ice through the door to see if it is closing
properly. Then check the door gasket to see if it is sealing properly.
Turning the temp. down shouldn't help nor hurt your problem.
